so what was really said to the MGT's at these meetings. Some say that their DM said it is was better to step down now or be left as a cashier or no job.
There are so many companies out there with better pay and schedules.

I had the best performance review in my store, as well as the best score for my position in the district. I really hope I get this raise, because I go above and beyond what is required to benefit everyone.
How would you know that you got the best score for your position in the district? What is your position?

MGT's didn't go to the meetings. MGT's are actually not mentioned at all in the handouts. Here is what I'm hearing...

MGT's will get a raise this year commensurate with their review.

SM's are being pressured to have their MGT's make a decision. Either step down immediately or apply for ASM/ASM-T this Nov/Dec.

Some MGT's are being told they will keep their current rate if they step down to SFL. THIS IS NOT TRUE!!! If you step down your pay will drop after 90 days to $14/hr or whatever the max is for an SFL in your tier.

Why in my area was the pay lowered immediately? And yes I can believe that the process to move this thing along will speed up. The pressure is on baby!

This is true because we all will be coded for our positions, after you are coded your pay will show it,this is for all employees of front end.

As a mgt I have yet to hear any rumblings from my manager that I will need to make a decision about stepping down anytime soon. We seem to be convinced we are following the timeline for March 2013 or whatever.

Does Front End Labor Modeling include mgt hours getting cut? I asked my manager and they thought mgt hours would not get cut, but photo and cos would.

Is this modeling also the idea that we will have more budget hours on weeks, for example, when there are more resets?

I think it's funny walgreens keeps coming up with phrases to instill fear. Project Edison. Field Transformation. Now for me, it's FRONT END LABOR MODELING. Come to think about it, I never really knew what "Project Edison" included. Maybe just "bad news". Or is "Edison" officially Field Transformation. Any ideas?

I looked in the policy and procedure tab on storenet and found the FELM link and i clicked it and it worked! Im just a lowly peon with 5 years under my belt as a Photo Tech that is keeping up with this whole transformation. I printed the "Flexible workforce: Front end labor model step by step guide" and have been reading it. The thing that amuses me is the guide thats there when SM's do the individual team member meetings, that section made me laugh i guess Walgreen's anticipates the fallout and gives the "dummies" version imo, of how to deal with employees feelings and reactions. It should be available to print go ahead and print out a copy and take it read it learn it. Funny thing is in the corner of the first page it says "store and district Leadership guide" i wonder if im supposed to be having access to these documents, i was also able to print out the front end team member data report with everyone's name in my store and there hours worked, one of the boxes says in the graph "transfer to store # or position code" . Now i don't know if this has been discussed yet but in my district in CA these Links in storenet barely became available to click, so get your copy today, oh and i seen the powerpoint presentation too but it wouldnt play i wish i could download it lol.

Yes, they both mean "bad news."

Project Edison pertains to the restructuring that eliminates the EXA and MGT positions, and adds ASM, ASMT, and SFL, and the associated compensation changes to our vocabulary, as well as changes to the work flow (whether it succeeds or not) of the Store Manager, CL, and DM.

FELM is the other shoe dropping. Rank in File team members will have minimums and maximums in what they make, and hours will probably be adversely affected in the long run. The percentage of part-time employees in each store will likely go up too.

Question:
How have you been able to train a pet time employee on PPLs that have time limits, without falling behind?

Info on the Front End Labor Model is on Store Net.
I printed it today and have been reading it.

Everyone should be finding out a lot more on this from your store managers in the next couple of weeks.

The main thing in this will be what each store's hours will be. It will also depend on each store's peak times. That's when people will be scheduled.
The more flexible you are with your availability, the more hours you will get unless your part time.

My favorite part of the FELM info is in the Q&A section.

Q: What are the long term effects of having more part time employees vs full time employees?

A: More flexibility in running your business.

LMAO! What a great corporate answer. Yeah, that's the only difference.

Even though it doesn't say this would happen .. one of my concerns would be working split shifts. Example: work from 8am to 12 and then have to go back and work 6 to close...I don't feel we should have to be doing that but I feel like it could since scheduling is going to be around peak times.

I think the way to avoid the split shifts is their suggestion of hiring 2 Part Timers vs 1 Full Timer...... so you'd have 1 part timer work 8-12 and another one work 6- close.
