Was told by WHO? There are a lot of people confused about specific dates for everything involving the overall restructuring. The position was supposed to be open to apply for in April and I've heard nothing about that changing. We haven't even been told the rates for the position yet, so I can't see it suddenly becoming available in less than a month.

The position won't be fulfilled until April but the application process will begin quite a bit earlier. I haven't heard the November date but it wouldn't surprise me.

Honestly, at this point, the DM's should know who their "top picks" are. They realize a high percentage of MGT's are going to apply for the position but there is probably very little wiggle room in who they actually promote. If you don't already have a good reputation within the district you're going to earn it this late in the game. If the district staff doesn't know you by name that's another good clue you're not going to get picked.

It just wouldn't make sense to suddenly start that process leading into holidays. *IF* anything is done in November, it would likely be another round of short 1-on-1 talks similar to the compensation meetings a few months ago, in which rates and all remaining details concerning the position would be given. THEN applications would ideally be a while after... be it a month later, 2 months, or whatever it may be. If they do begin the application process early at all, I would assume nothing earlier than January.

They aren't going to reveal the rates until after the holidays because they are lower than a lot of people assume they will be. The last thing a store needs is management staff quitting this time of year.

Apps and info will not officially be released until after Xmas. Can't have anyone quitting until then

I think you nailed it..one of my former co-workers (current MGT) was recently sat down this week by our old SM and given the packet of goals abs expectations for an EXA. SM was really hyping it up and telling her pursue the ASM-T route and eventually become an ASM.

District knows who they want. I think they are doing this to good candidates to motivate them that much more and have them push harder through the holidays.

If I were you guys, I'd quit now. What kind of company tells you about these positions and doesn't disclose the pay rate? The answer is a company that doesn't give a damn about its people. The most retarded downsizing I have ever witnessed. And yes, you are being downsized. Downsized in pay and talent. What a disgrace. FYI I left in August. Wag is pathetic.
