Bonus Checks

Just heard that there has been some districts getting early bonus checks to fall in line with all the pay on performance that is coming down. All bonused employees are getting prorated bonuses, so that the company can start a jan-dec bonus cycle for all bonused employees. If there is any truth to this, please share. Also I think that March will be the telling month, this will be the first month of the 90 day fills to stop coming in. ESI's full effect will start in April. Good luck to everyone being affected by this structuring change!

Heard that DM figure reviews were canceled in more than one district and that some districts were getting bonus checks for partial years. I agree, money in hand is better than the uncertainty of waiting and "seeing". Hope this is true. This instability is crazy right now!

Exactly. It's hard to concentrate on working with all the rumors. I'll take my partial bonus and get out.

Don't know that I'm leaving, just uncertain. I'll enjoy the ride until I see what they are looking at as the "new labor model" seems like we are already in progress with the process. STL in my stores for more than 2 1/2 years now. I can see the 2 co-manager and 2 key holder model shortly. DM's CL's and SM's have a right to be scared about them being cut as well.

Thanks for the heads up, but "the Edison Project" was put in place as a labor model to combat the ever growing lost script volume of our pharmacies. 90 day fills has been getting pushed at the same time as this labor rollout years ago. Edison is not new, this was the contigency plan of things like ESI. The writing was on the wall years ago. We are just starting to feel the affects of this change in upper managements thinking. Miquelon and others had to show the intial loss, which was masked in the "rewire" and now the resulting labor models that they piloted in markets like phoenix, are going to start rolling out everywhere. Just a FYI

After the two sides come to an agreement or th 3rd party plans and employer groups direct contract back with us we will post record earnings yet again, available cash flow will be at an all time high and we will never see our management staffing or quality of staff ever return. We will continue to calibrate evaluations to budget wage increases and vacation earning will be re-evaluated. Btw, the company couldn't pay 8300 bonuses all in the same month.....unless that EXPENSE decreased significantly

Pretty sure 8300 bonuses would be on the low side, with the amount of store level bonuses that would be paid. But yes we could, makes perfect sense to do this soon and blame it on the intial fall out from the ESI nonsense. The operational cash flow continues to be as strong as it ever has been. Besides the amount of money that they save but putting us on a pay on performance earlier. We'll be making half the bonus if we're lucky going forward! I guess we'll just have to see after this week. Market meeting in 2 weeks here.

Bonuses are paid as an expense under SG&A monthly and placed in an escrow account until the end of the budget year. The money has already been accounted for and does not cause any additional expense.

Here is the bonus deal for my area and am sure something similar for everywhere else.

My Bonus period is normally May 1st to April 30th.They got that off this December 31st and we will be getting a bonus check for 8 months. We will then run another 8 month cycle from Jan 1 to August 31st and get another Bonus check at this time.

We will then be on a cycle of Sept 1st to August 31st.This is also the fiscal year for the company. All employees in the company who get a bonus(except upper mgmt) will be on the Sept-Aug Bonus cycle. This September is also when we will start with the new bonus formula.

That's what I had heard was going down. Also, I know that DM level and up are bonused at the fiscal time table. Have a couple DM's I know that coughed that one up over beers in Vegas. So we will probably be all in line and makes sense, if it is truly on company performance as a whole. Thanks again for the heads up and good luck to ya!!!
