I am an STL at Walgreens, and I am the bottom of the poop chain...the managers give me the time they don't want, they give me the work they don't want, and the GM doesn't give a rat's *ss.
I have worked for 3 of the "big" fortune 500 companies, and this chain treats it's people THE WORST! I have ever witness. I will not be here long, just long enough to find another job.
I agree whole hearted, if you are not shoving your nose up MGT *ss you are treated like something they found in the toilet. Futher more, if anyone had any idea how filthy Walgreens stock rooms are they would NEVER buy anything!
you got that right!!

This company is a shit hole. Their policy is profits first, everything else second. They don't give a fuck if a customer needs help, because they want everything stocked and on the shelves despite customers waiting on line, one the phone etc. The employees are overworked and underpaid for the bullshit they go through. The workload is never ending because once something is done, they'll find some menial tasks for you. In case anyone is wondering, yes, the place is extremely short staffed and they want to keep it that way. And for what? cheaply made goods from China that breaks in a day or two? The Walgreens I worked at were full of drama and BS politics. Certain employees don't pull their weight, while people like me have to to pick up their slack and more. Despite picking up their slack, doing one menial task after another, being reprimanded for helping customers out instead of listening to my manager, they complain that I was working too slow and too busy talking with other employees. Well I hope enough employees will finally get sick of their bullshit and customers will get fed up with their shitty customer service and cheap sweatshop products and then the company will finally crumble.

They lied in my appeal also. This is no longer a company that can be trusted. No integrity whatsoever.

I was just denied unemployment benefits as well. I sent in my appeal, as well as sent a letter my senator. Sounds a bit old fashion to actually write to your senator, but the more public people you get involved, the better it is.
I also sat down, typed my entire 5 year career that I had at Walgreens, and everything, and anything, that happened, that was illegal, or even questioable. I have sent to my senator, and well as to a few law firms in my city to get a opinion of what my legal actions can be. It is free to do, and it can not hurt to get a unbiased opinon on the matter.
I have been waiting on my benefits since mid-june, only to be denied almost two months later.
Walgreens is crazy if they think I will not fight them to the end to get what is rightfully mine.

Isn’t that like beating a dead horse?? With all the budget cuts and lost mgt hours it is almost impossible for mgmt to get a real break. There is almost no good overlap so if the closing mgr wants 30 min with no interruptions he or she must take it almost immediately after starting their shift, and the opening mgr needs to wait until almost the end of their shift… For myself, I really don’t care, it is easier to just work straight through and eat on the run, lol… As far as some of the head mgrs, they get breaks all day so they don’t count, lol… No harm intended, just stating a visualized opinion… ; )

I also heard about this. My fellow asst mgr is claiming he and his other mgr friends already got their checks. I thought he was just kidding. Is this for real? How come I haven't gotten mine? Does what is their process of sending the checks?

The moment my store manager demands that I take a lunch break under the present conditions (I'm the only MGT on duty for all of my shift) is the moment I call employee relations. However, he hasn't because he's not that stupid.

Wouldn't the check be like a paycheck, it will have to have taxes taken out and added to our regular paychecks? Maybe you can ask them whom sent it? Was it Walgreens? I have not heard a thing and would be surprised, and greatful if we got anything=

I just went thru old mail. And I saw the settlement form. They gave us 3 options. Join the cclaim, opt out from the claim and do nothing. But they said that you can still send an objection to the court before the final approval. however if the court rejects it, you will still be bound by the terms of the settlement. Does this mean I'm ask sill in it if I didn't do a thing?

Same here. I have never been so badly treated by a manager. He was a bully from hell.
