Walgreens is a good example of the worst of the worst in american businesses! They are greedy, unethical, all of their management are complete liars, the upper management are nothing but a bunch of dominating control freaks to try to OWN the middle managers and treat them with total disrespect and as if they are terror suspects, they use and abuse people and treat them like slaves, they also try to use mind control techniques as they do in the service to gain control of others and "break their will", so they can dominate and control them. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy as an employer. They need to learn GOD is in control..they are not, but most of them are so immoral and unethical I am sure this lesson was never taught to them. They also have NO management skills or abilities, the place is run like a circus, with a total lack of professionalism.
I wish I had never called district and I would still have a job for better or for worse, however I totally agree that Walgreens has turned into a greedy and corrupt company. The original Mr. Walgeens is probably rolling over in his grave to see his "friendly neighborhood drug store" has stooped to this level. They have really messed up my state of mind.

I know how you all feel. I have been with Walgreens for 20 years. Yes I'm an EXA manager. When I first came to this company I was so impressed with it. They took care of their employees now they don't care. They work us until (in my case I'm falling apart) we can't go any longer. I work 6 days a week because my manager says so. I even overheard a manager that I worked for on the phone saying I would not get promoted because of my health. I was so mad that I went straight to the district manager and of course he said that was not true. I have been an EXA for 6 years and yes I do believe it is true. I have tried to find other jobs (becsuse I'm working my butt off to go no where with this company) my age is not helping matters. Everything I've read on this site is true. It's who you know that gets you somewhere in this company. It's sad but so very true.

Yes, I know managers are overworked as are the employees. They don't care if we drop dead.If what happens! I am older too, and I think and after I left they hired a much younger woman in cosmetics. Last I heard that is called age discrimination! My manager had a thing for hot young chicks and treated older women like ****. Good luck and don't put all your eggs in their basket. They are very good at getting rid of employees, soon to retire so they don't have to pay retirement.

Walgreens deserve all the lawsuits! Bad company to work for! You will not go anywhere at Walgreens unless you know how to kiss ass! They will not treat you based on merit! Very glad this company stock is falling!

Not just the middle managers! ALL of upper management is like that! They work us like slaves, and there is no opportunity for growth! I think we should bring a class action lawsuit against this company! hahaha! They have NO management skills because the "managers" were not promoted based on merit! get it? Liars, and unethical?- I agree COMPLETELY! Well, I do believe in Karma, and I think its striking them right now! Their stock is falling and analysts have downgraded them! hahaha!

Good luck to all the plaintiffs against Walgreen's with your bogus claims. It should be an easy few dollars in your pockets. Try working for your money. It is much more gratifying.
Hey there is a lot of good people that got screwed over due to the SM or district don't like. If I had a chance to do so I would sue to. They created a lot of bogus claims against good people just because they are not liked and because they had dirt on the sm or someone like that

I know of a lady in Austin that her mother died and the store would not send any flowers and the SM says Walgreens don't do that the mother so when she came back to work she ask me why we didn't send any flowers I told her that sm wouldn't pay, but we collected enough money to send a small planter to her house

I totally agree with you. They think of them selfs and the theifs more so for the employee's that had built the company to what it is today. They are letting more pharmacy techs go if they don't start doing more for the other stores and the exa's are having to do the tech's work and to run the store. And now the SBA is to going to be a key carrier for all refunds and voids so that the STL can do their job which is a spot that should of never happened (STL)waste of time to train and money. I could go on and on here but I won't. Walgreens SM's are all back stabber's don't trust none of them

Thank you, Tom. This has been a horrible time for me. I worked my *** off, had special customers (retirement community) and didn't get a chance to say goodbye. I guess if we know in our hearts that we gave it all we had, all is not lost.( except for feeling like a total ******* failure). Gee, why is the stock going down?!!! So sad. I'm sure the blame game is going on up there in corp.Kind of like BP on a much smaller scale. At least Walgreens isn't killing wildlife that we know of. They would rather work their employees to death.

i worked for walgreens and had all the same issues as everyone else. walgreens is no longer a family company. i was with walgreens for 5 yrs, and all during that time we were made to take off our over time, and if we didn't, we weren't 'team players'. And that is when they start a paper trail on you to get u out the door. Because acording to them, whatever you won't do, there is someone who would.
I loved my job, I hated the people that I worked with. I hated it so much, I took a promotion to mgr, across my state, to get away from them, only 2 years later to be back under the same people again.
I am currently looking for an attorney, for these issues and more.
If anyone has any helpfull information please post and let me know.
Thanks

I could not agree more, corp. doensn't even have a slight idea what the store and rx managers do to and say to the employees to be on top of their dist. It is wrong and it will never stop, unless there is no more walgreens or employees to make the co rich....... at any cost to the employee wether mentally or physically.....SAD !

The people there were working for their money, Walgreens however, was not paying them in full for their work. This was masked by placement in underperforming stores, etc... Obviously, you have never been undervalued or shortchanged for the work you do- why should anyone else be because of his/her race?
I am an STL at Walgreens, and I am the bottom of the poop chain...the managers give me the time they don't want, they give me the work they don't want, and the GM doesn't give a rat's *ss.
I have worked for 3 of the "big" fortune 500 companies, and this chain treats it's people THE WORST! I have ever witness. I will not be here long, just long enough to find another job.
I agree whole hearted, if you are not shoving your nose up MGT *ss you are treated like something they found in the toilet. Futher more, if anyone had any idea how filthy Walgreens stock rooms are they would NEVER buy anything!
