Does anyone have the name of the lawyers representing the California lawsuit against walgreens, on behalf of mgt's for unpaid hours? I was sent a notice earlier this year and lost it. I heard from a store manager who was mgt or exa at the time, who got $3000 and it was anonymous too.

I recommend you contact your District Manager if you feel you are being treated unfairly by the store manager. Exercise your right under the Open Door Policy.. If things do not change after you take this step...then you have a right to make the claims you do.
once you make a complaint then they start trying to find a reason to fire you. I filed a complaint about an employee verbally threatening to bust me in the face. I had a witness and the employee admitted it. common sense. case close. fire the employee. I was an mgt for almost two years. Well they did none of that but to put her to work during the day. No good. I worked during the day two. then they come back and tell me that out of that investigation the employee made allegation. Of course she did. she was being punished. They tried to say that it was my fault this girl threatened me. well because of a past abusive relationship this girl really scared me. I was sick with worry. having panic attacks and all. I had to call out of work sick. I took them a doctors note and all. when I took them a second doctors note my manager says oh you abandoned your job. they basically fired me. retaliation, discrimination, call it what you want. I say it sould be illegal and I have hired an attorney. no body speaks out so they keep doing it. I seen so much discrimintory practices in this company its not funny.

I worked for wag for five years in the same store, I helped set it up and worked all departments. They hired me knowing I was disabled over time they did their best to make me quit, working me 16 days straight, splitting days off, not letting me leave when i was throwing up blood. Calling me in after midnight to fix the photo lab after someone turned off the silver recovery unit and alarms were blaring. Mind you I was not the head photo, but I was the only one called. I did not get paid for comming in, on those calls. I complained and was moved to cosmetics, then a pharmacy position opened and they moved me there, My first day behind the counter they had me typing scripts, and filling again no tech license. I was uncomfortable and said so and shortly after was banished to the front register. I ordered all tobacco products and checked outdates etc. I loved it, I was fired this past april for typing in a coupon instead of scanning, WTF but that is how Wlagreens roles. If you are great with customers and have morals and have pride in what you do, dont bother working for them. You will be screwed over in the end. I did not get my full final pay, they are fighting me on unemployment just all around Evil People.

So I guess they have one less disabled employee, and a lot less customers, when I was forced to leave the store lost 30 script holders and many many more regular customers. Thats what they get firing a neighborhood woman.

Walgreens is horrible to disabled and minorities.

i worked for walgreens for almost 3 years and was recently terminated for using coupons...the loss pervention supervisor said it was coupon fraud. correct me if im wrong but if the register takes a coupon then your not at fault... right? well my store manager and assistant manager did this also.so why was i terminated? im seriously thinking about a lawsuit for deprivation of character... let me know what you think. and for those of you thinking about working for walgreens... DONT!

If you, in the estimation, are using coupons (as a customer) KNOWING that they are expired, does not pertain to the item you are buying, etc... then that is coupon fraud. Also, as far as Walgreens is concerned, if you are using those coupons that print out from the catalina machines and you were not the ORIGINAL recepient of those coupons then that is also coupon fraud. Those coupons are meant the original recepient as far as the clients of the catalina program are concerned. And, if you are an employee of Walgreens don't even think about using those register reward "store coupons" if they were not meant for you. If your store manager and assistant manager did this also I hope you mentioned it to loss prevention. And if they were left off the hook then you have a legitimate gripe.

This is quite bizarre. You were fired for "hard keying" a coupon? How insane. Were you fired after loss prevention did an investigation or were you fired by the store manager without loss prevention being notified? In my district we are taught not to lose a customer over a lousy coupon as long as we, in good faith, believe the coupon to be OK.

Sounds like you were let go because the powers that be didn't like you. Walgreens is well known for letting people go who do not fit into their corporate model of greed, mindlessness, a** kissing. If you display any form of entrepeneurship in running your store, plan on being unemployed, because corporate cannot tolerate anyone else thinking that they can run the business better. Truly how is Walgreens any different than Walmart or any other company in modern America?

I am planning to file a lawsuit against a Walgreens in North Carolina for age and race discrimination. Any advice would be appreciated.

The first thing you have to do is go to an employment lawyer/law firm to see if you even have a case for a consultation. If they think you have a case they'll jump at the chance.

I have just recently file an EEOC claim against Walgreens in North Carolina. I have claimed discrimination based on age and race. I have also alerted OSHA that pharmacy techs do not take their breaks as mandated by law. I have been harassed by pharmacy managers in 2 stores.

what the hell is deprivation of character? go and file a charge using that phrase and im sure the judge will proceed with it, considering there is no such thing.... well there is but im sure walgreens did not deprive u of ur character, perhaps u mean defamation of character? and i dont think that will work... they would have to inform others of ur character, therefore making it it difficult to find a job, oh and the information that they would be sharing with other companies would have to be pretty much unfounded......
..... more than likely, they were trying to find ways to get rid of you for things done in the past (whether they are legit or not is another story) and they used this as a "final straw". ur best bet may be to attaack it from the 4 write ups in a 6 month period angle.. and also have ur lawyers investigate that what u did was actually fraud (did u ever sign off on anything that stated what coupon fraud consisted of) and then they should investigate that it hadnt been done by anyone else, and if it was, why wasnt it handled the same way with them......
.... and for the love of god, do not tell them deprevation of character

Hey Tom...know what you are talking about before you open your "yapper". Many of us who did work for Walgreens got screwed because we were salary and did not get paid for the overtime we worked. Wouldn't you want the money that is rightfully yours? So next time you say "try working for your money", make sure you are not sterotyping OR you can work for me while I get paid. Seems that you like it that way.
You took a salaried job, knowing you had to work some OT hours and you wouldn't get paid for it, but then you go and sue the company you work for? Just work the job and close your yap.

I currently work at Walgreens. And I know I am being discriminated against!! Wanna hear something funny? I am a white female who is discriminated by a white male store manager. All of the African Americans that work with me get their asses licked and are spoon fed everything!!! Guess one needs to be either African American or Male to go anywhere with this company!! It really is sad that we cant be seen for our work ethics instead of our sex or race!!!

I have filled with EEOC a discrimination based on race and age and also retaliation charge too. The case in under investigation before final decision. It is hard to come by an attorney to help since I have not lost any income. do you any attorney that can help? I am doing it on principle not for money

Imagine how I feel right now....my health issue cost me a job at Walgreens....I guess management forgot about the HIPPA Law. I had to drop school this quarter because I couldn't pay my tution and I was taking classes to improve my skills as a Tech. Now I'm so disgusted with everything I'm not sure I want to be in the medical profession anymore. The Hell with Walgreens!!!!!! I do have to admit that I will miss the elderly patients that would come in every few days and say hello. DISGUSTED in PORTLAND, OREGON

you guys all crack me up! every company has some bad apples -- it sounds like you should be sueing individual people, not the company. oops, but that would mean you couldn't get a huge payment for doing nothing. whatever, go ahead, keep flooding our legal system with crappy claims just so you can make a quick penny!
