I here more and more about eliminating the sm pasition. Does anyone no more on this?

As has happend with mgt and soon EXA after all is done SM will also be retitled and reduced in pay but will be offered the new position with lower pay scale so they won't be fired but instead if then new position title is refused they will be quiting.

Refusing an offered position doesn't translate to quitting.

Actually it is. The policy when I was let go was that if you were due to be let go and you were offered a job of "equivalent" salary (meaning within 10%), if you turned down the offer you forfeited all your jobless benefits, including severance and unemployment. I would have to think they'll use the same tactic here.

Very few MGTs that refuse the SFL position will lose less than 10%. I might lose up to 30%. This in most states qualify as constructive firing. constructive firing can be used for force demotions, but more often is caused by harassment. though it is still valid for this case. The standard fro a company to show cause for a demotion is very high.

The fact that community leaders/managers will now be able to process and approve all of their community store's payroll in Kronos is proof enough for me. If that doesn't show that they will soon be managing multiple stores I don't know what does.

it doesnt really matter what walgreens policy is regarding unemployment. That is state by state legislations. and really, even if being within 10% of original pay was valid... why wouldnt you still take the job. that is 5k on a 50k job. I realize its a cut but still

Either take the cut and maintain your time so you keep all of those weeks of vacation each year or go somewhere else and start over.
