Projects for everyone and a photo line that goes out to the door all day long. Pharmacy calling for register help, cos ringing all day to help and no one can get into the stockroom to pull a darn thing. Not enough staff or registers to keep up with the lines. We are supposed to be able to take orders on talzon but no one wants to because you don't know if the customer switches items after being scanned. Doesn't save time when you are checking each item for accuracy. Pissed off customers everywhere. Bathrooms out of order again. A car accident in the parking lot again. Old lady without cell phone could not start her car. Asked the store manager to help her jump it and follow her to her mechanic to make sure she gets there. Out of baic items like hydrogen peroxide for craps sake! Some old guy puts it in reverse in the drive thru and smashes car behind him. Lady goes into labor in pharmacy line. Our store is a nightmare now, just like it is every Christmas. Why can't everyone just be an athiest?

The discussion threads, stories, comments, and questions for other readers which are posted regularly from somewhere near Chicago, IL seem to always get attention from someone on this forum. I suppose tonight, it got some attention from me.

If any of it is true, it cannot be a good thing.
If any of it is false, it cannot be a good thing.

Just my opinion.

That sounds like my store - if I could happen, probably has, at least at my store.

Isn't this happening all across the country? Sounds exactly like my store. Wag has figured a way out to make sure no one has time to "lean" on the job.

Nope. Today, my morning staff had all my notes completed by noon. I gave my night mgr. 15 minutes of notes to complete and told her good luck in finding some work to do tonight.

My store is like this too. Phones ringing off the hook, long lines, pharmacy in chaos. All kinds of confused old people going over their receipts because they think they were "overcharged" without the BR card. Just a typical night at Walgreens.

Well, if this is similar to what is going on in different stores right now, it sounds like a circus. I have been in retail a while so I don't think much surprises me in anymore and things are always worse on holidays but what I see is currently limited to the pharmacy. I hope everyone survives the next week without losing their mind. I am trying to hang on to my mind while I am forced to say, "Thank you and be well." If we end up working with hospices, we might have to change our slogan to "At the corner of sick and dying".

Considering wags attention to details for the living,I would hate to know what kind of hospice care they could provide.

Its a joke. Not the OP....but the manner in which WAG forecasts and hands out payroll. Its like Daddy giving his son a $1.00 to go down to the vending machine to bring back a six pack of soda for his brothers & sisters...when the cost is 75 cents/can. When the little boy comes back with only one can, Daddy pockets the change and says...."This is diet soda!"

LOL.. sounds like our store as well...we are a 14 hr Store, yet we always rank ahead of most 24 hr stores in our district. We are way out so we can't call for help like in the city. People either can't pass the drug test, background check or skills assesment...we have call ins b/ c they know we need them. Warm bodies says sm...I say fire till we get people who will work. Employees call me drill sergeant, but they don't call in on my shift. I roll up my sleeves and help with all tasks and I joke around with them and make sure they are still sane...if I see them stressing I tell them to go take a chill pill and I take over their register for I started as a cashier and now an assistant..caught between that exa and sfl position..we have no exa in our store. I understand how front cashier feels...dealing with all those, cos, pharmacy and SFLs...but the bottom line is..we are there to do a job we applied for and we all can be customers instead of employees. Life isn't fair..and no Walgreens isn't fair either, but once we walk through those doors and clock in, we r choosing to take on the job at hand. We can't get to everything, we can't please everyone but we should always do our best.. and say thank u to our employees everyday...
