It's true. MGTs are being replaced at low volume stores with STLs. MGTs at those stores will NOT be offered the position. MGTs that still have a job can see a reduction in hours as low as 33 OR be forced to take a reduction in pay(depends on your location). STLs will gain another $1 raise. SM bonus being reduced as EXAs will receive a bigger bonus. I used to love this company...time to dust off the old resume.

They're doing a lot of "screwy" things with low volume stores. I would hate to see a good MGT losing hours/pay just because he/she is in a low volume store as opposed to a mediocre MGT who's keeping their hours/pay just because they're in a higher grossing store. They must be doing some juggling around to make sure this doesn't happen.

Working at a store with 2 Assists, No EXa, an STL, and a SM, I can say STL close at least twice a week in this setup. 3 if the the SM doesn't want to close a night.

Cool. We have a sign up sheet in the office asking for a volunteer to be a floater mgt.He said if no one volunteered then one person would be chosen. wtf is that about? Sm told me today he doesn't have enough payroll to support all the mgts he currently has. Then why hire another mgt? When asked this question I was told you don't know what's going on in the lives of all your employees and someone may get fired or quit that's a current mgt. anyone want to give us heads up on what to expect with this scenario or what may soon pass in the coming months?

I do not remember the new formula for bonuses in '12. it should have already been posted on storenet by now. the information i received came from our district meeting recently. the elimination of mgts in stores will only happen in low volume stores for now, hence the freeze on mgts right now.

Exactly -- there are some stores that won't have mgts but they will only be in low volume stores (i.e. the ones that they have or will take out the photo lab/cosmetics counters). There are a couple of stores in my area that are like this right now. In terms of the management staffing for stores, corporate is now in the philosophy mode that one size does not fit all. It will be based on need.

Pop... reductions in the district office workforce has been rumored to be in the pipeline for a few months now. Most people speculate that it will be one of the first areas we see cuts in 2012.

With reduced hiring and CCR finishing up I think you could possibly see the district trainer job eliminated.

I hear you pop..they sit at a cubical and does not have a clue to the things we do out on the floor with the customers. They make stupid decision that makes no sense at all, and when you question their decision you are look upon as a difficult employee or someone who should not have an opinion.

The vast majority of the operational trainers (coordinators or whatever they're called) got their position over the district trainer simply because the district trainer lacked pharmacy experience (i.e. certification). Most of these operational trainers - who came from the pharmacy side - are pretty worthless when it comes to the front end. The district trainers actually provided a valuable role in terms of helping to train the SIMC and store management. If management had a problem the district trainer would help to provide the solution but the operational trainers don't have a clue about the front end. The operational trainer that my district has hasn't paid a visit to my store - ever. But it's not like we miss her.

The operational trainer are worthless. The one I have has made it a point to be LAZY. I addition has the nerve to take out my tech from the store for a meeting? Hello what happened tyour conference calls? Why would you take out my tech when I need them them the most?
And all this while before rewire we all knew this person could not stand working in a store but was selected to train others!
I just can't understand all the people who know how to avoid getting their jobs done, are rude and crude or no little or nothing about getting the job done got promoted.
SOS please I'm drowning in a sea of mess and the lifeguards are on the beach having 5 minute meetings!

operational trainers will call for worthless meetings for one reason only --- to help justify their worthless job
