Thanks for the info Matt. I've been in this position for 2+ years and feel very underpaid for the amount of work I do and the resposibility.

I've been with the company for 18 years. Been head cosmetician,PA and Sims Coordinator forever. Our pay really stinks! There is no such thing as having a job description. I do payroll, cash report, pulled in the warehouse trucks for years... and just about everything else as i'm sure you know. I had to have carpal tunnel surgery on both hands, have extensive nerve damage and Walgreens refuses to pay, says that our job will not cause us to get Carpal Tunnel! This company is a trip and everyone should know what we have to go through.

It is not that easy for a 46 yr. old woman who now has nerve damage in her hands from working at this job for 18 yrs and cannot lift anything over 10lbs,no pushing or pulling etc...I cannot see taking advantage of the state and applying for welfare when there are other people especially seniors who need it. Why can't they just pay a decent wage for workiers who are dedicated/?

You do payroll and cash reports?! I bet if your DM or Loss Prevention found about that they would put a stop to it. I'm sure you are well qualified etc but they seem to like to have power over what managers assign us to do.

I would be happy making inbetween what we are paid and what an assistant manager is being paid. They keep telling me that the SIMS Coor. is the 2nd most important job in the store under the store manager. Where is the pay? Like you said Debbie "tired of working for peanuts".

Maria,
Loss prevention know about it,he's seen me doing it so it doesn't make a difference. They know they have us over a barrel,we need our jobs and at my age even though i'm not that old it hard to find work plus having the nerve damage to my hands thanks to working at Walgreens for 18 years no one will touch me. I'm still waiting for Walgreens to pay me workmans comp since last Sept. They claim that carpal tunnel is not caused by the work we do at Walgreens, can you believe it!!!!!Pay the bills, resets, revisions, orderin g,cashiering,scanning... our list goes on and on, but no money for being the managers right hand man, more important that an EXA who gets a yearly bonus!

Obviously the cost of living is higher in Calfornia thus the better pay. I'm almost at $10 an hour.

Maria, I am a SIMS Coordinator in Louisiana and I started out with $8.50, and I agree with everyone else, that the SIMS is just as important as an EXA or an assistant, I know I do a hell of alot more than they do half the time. I asked about an assistant manager position and the store manager was giving me every excuse in the book, saying my kids were going to be a problem and my school work would get in the way, which is untrue because I am at work everyday. I have been with the company for 7 years, and I am now looking for another job.

wow! i had no idea sims go through so much stuff. im up for interview soon for sims. after reading your comments makes me worried. ive been a cashier for almost 3 years now and i might as well be a sims because they already have me doing resets, revisions, marking down items... etc.
i get paid pretty good for what i do and im full time cashier. i started with 7.25 and now i currently get paid 10.90 plus i have another raise coming up once i complete my 3rd year.

I work for Walgreens as a service clerk. However my boss said I was "the bookeeper" even though I wear a name tag that says service clerk. I have to prepare the cash report and edit and send the cash reports. I also do payroll. Basically I do all the paperwork and most of the computer work in the office. For this I was paid 8.25 an hour but through persisntent request was able to get my pay raised to 10.25 an hour ( in a series of steps) after a year. I was given an assistant managers sign on to use the computer to print out the ledgers and cash reports etc. I really feel taken advantage of. At other stores the asst managers do this work and get paid much more than I do.
Does the pay of the service clerks affect the managers bonus? In other words are managers motivated to keep salaries low because it effects their own bonus if expenses are high.

You make $10.25 an hour to do a job that takes me 10 minutes a day. I'm sure you also work a consistant schedule compared to an assistant manager schedule. I'm sure you also do not do resets and revisions, run the front, etc...

lol yeah, you should be happy to even get a $2 raise out of it. You make more than almost every non-management/non-pharmacy employee. And in return, all you have to do is a five-minute cash report daily and take MAYBE an hour once a week to do TEAM/payroll.

I don't understand people. Before I got into management, I would do anything to learn more and if it increased my pay, all the better. I just liked to know how to do everything, it opens more opportunities in the future and makes the chances of being let go less. And if it increases pay, all the better.

If you were being expected to handle all the customer returns, complaints, and DM visits, etc., then I'd complain lol.

I know of SIMS Coordinators that do price changes, scan outs, work reports from scan outs, 1506, promotions management, ad repairs, callins, quarantine pulls, EDR, inventory adjustments, ISR, reports after report while giving breaks to front end, cos, photo. Yes they do resets, revisions, and customer service. Even doing the occasional Satudate in cos., though they can not earn the PM,s. Oh and the truck is here so grab a telxon. If you don't think SIMS do what ever is asked you have not been listening. It is to bad because they often have more experience than the assistant managers covering. Managers don't want to promote them because they are so hard to replace because of the training time. Who else knows all that stuff? I moved here from another state and was asked to apply for a position locally. I have moved on.

Yes, being the SIMSC is an underpaid position, but I have more freedom and the best shift of anyone else in the store.
