It stays in your locker. Not to be played with.

exactly what the company policy is. Keep it in your locker and only use it in the breakroom

Managers are supposed to carry a phone with them but are only suppose to use them in case of emergency.

No official company policy. All rules are store to store basis. Boom goes the dynamite.

Last time I checked there isn't one that says that they must be kept in your locker. If you search it on storenet the only thing regarding cell phones is to operate a motor vehicle safely while talking on one. It does not say anything specific to a store. After talking to employee relations on this very subject I was told that these rules may vary from store to store and district I district. Now don't you just love that there's so many gray areas on all the issues and wonder why it gives them any reason to fire or write you up? Quite convenient when there's not an employee handbook right?

My store manager texts us all the time. Seems to be his favorite form of communication. I keep my cell phone on me all the time because he is notorious for forgetting to tell us things he wants done. It's nothing to get at least 10 texts from him after he leaves work.

We have a district policy of no cell phones on sales floor. We are allowed to carry them on overnights because too many people have been robbed and then have no cell phone to call for help.

I carry mine always. My policy for my clerks is just dont let me catch you with it on the sales floor. I hold myself to that same rule unless i'm assisting a customer(calculator, checking the time, calling other stores etc...). I dont wear a watch.

We do have a cell phone policy and it's in policy and benefits, under employment policies...I believe it is for DM's and UP. It is the only policy I've seen so I would assume the policies are different in every district, so you have to abide by the rules of your district and DM.

What about the floater pharmacists? The ones that come to our store put set their smartphone up on the counter as soon as they arrive. And it's not being used for looking up medical information that isn't available on Storenet.

No cell phones, keep it in your locker, unless you need it for "emergencies,or Religious reasons" which goes case by case in every store. I would imagine if it becomes a problem in your store the manager would make his/her own policy. If you are using your cell phone for reasons other than store needs ie;calculator, searching things for customers, you would probably get written up for using it.You can get away with abusing the policy if you have a legit reason for having your cell phone on your person.

My store is, no cell phones on floor...

Unless you are a pet, you can use the phone in the store as much as you like to save your cell phone minutes, you're allowed to hide in the photo lab as much as you like to text, and are allowed to talk on the cell phone out in the parking lot as much as you like.

Look. If you have a smart phone and want to use it to enhance your ability to give service and communicate outside of work efficiently, go ahead. Just don't go all ape shit and abuse the policy. See, easy. Now fill the cooler. No cell service in it:)

The only policy we have at our store is that cell phones are not allowed out on the sales floor. I allow my employees to use their cell phones in the office if they need to call or text someone really quick. Most of my employees keep their phones in their locker or in the office so they aren't tempted to use them outside of the office.

Isn't policy that you should keep your hands in view of the criminal at all times? Cooperate, Move Slowly, Announce Your Intentions, stuff like that? Fingers moving across the phone's keys would make the dude more likely to shoot you.

Can you give me a religious reason for an employee to keep an electronic messaging device on their person while working?
