I've been with the company for 5 years and currently a senior pharmacy tech (the youngest pharmacy employee in my store as well). Over the past year I have complained (along with others) about workplace bullying from one specific coworker. Including an incident where I was on the receiving end of physical contact. MGT and LP did nothing. Is it completely rediculous that because I'm white and the other employee is black they are doing nothing? Maybe worried about a lawsuit if they take action? I don't feel safe on my work enviornment. Anyone have experience with workplace bullying? How many complaints does an employee have to accrue (from coworkers) to get fired?!

That sounds like a situation that requires an attorney.

Rediculous, can you even spell the word?

By the way This is bananas, your being with the company 5 years or 5 minutes really has no bearing on the facts of this case that we only have you to give us.

Senior Pharmacy Tech? Can't spell. I hope you don't make mistakes with scrips.

-Try calling employee relations or the hotline instead. It will put added pressure on the LP and DM. Be sure to use the term "hostile work environment" whenever you speak about it to corporate, LP, DM, or whoever.

-Stand up for yourself confidently and speak out the bullying employee.

-Last line of defense: under-the-radar retaliation or physical threats. The ends does justify the means in cases such as these. You can't live your life in fear.

Get a lawyer a.s.a.p. to write a C and D letter, cease and desist. Do not waste time with employee relations they are there to investigate the person with the issue and rep the bully that works for the company. After your legal advisor has notified Walgreens and the bully continues with threats of any nature, phone the local police to report the incident. This will also provide an out side record and establish a pattern. Hire a Lawyer NOW!

Gather all the information you can , have current and past employees that have been subject to the abuse from the bully sign and support detailed accounts of the incidents. Contact the E.E.O.C. claim discrimination.Have your legal advisor file proper forms and be honest about everything. You may be able to contact a law school in your area to see if the Work Place Bullying trend is something they could use as a class project. There are many prestigous law programs that do this type of work sometimes for free. Contact the A.C.L.U. .I would invest in a cam. to film this jerk, post it on socail media to exhibet Walgreens lack of concern and blatant disregaurd of it's employee's well being. Call your local media, as people are very sensitive about work place abuse because of the poor economic conditions and the last thing Walgreens needs is bad PR.Do not provide any information to employee relations with out legal advice. less is more.

Do not talk to anyone about your case until you have Lawyered up. Have your lawyer search for active cases regarding Walgreens and it's habitual retaliatory form of conflict resolution.A class action law suit is also an option to think about. Walgreens has a dream team that is only there to protect it's interest. If you think calling employee relations involves actual care or concern for the employee, you have been walked to the garden gate.

Umm, how is an entry level employee going to afford a lawyer? And secondly, what lawyer is going to take a case as ambiguous as workplace bullying by a co-worker?

It seems to me not long ago a cashier that worked for Walgreens won her case and found the resources to hire a lawyer. There are many lawyers that will take on a case and work with the persons ability to pay. That is the classic line of threat and logic that Walgreens instructs it's management to offer up. If what she is telling us is true, she has a good case and should persue it.

As noted, contact LP and your Dm personally if nothing is being done at store level. You must have some great mgmt staff there. I was in the same boat years ago with a new 21 year old mgmt who though he was the shit. Until one day we were doing truck overnight, and again this was 6-7 years ago, and he shoved me to get to a bay. I didn't take kind to that an pushed back. He then said "move all these totes" to which I replied, "I'm not moving anything", his retort, "I'm going to write you up", "for what?" I stated. "Pushing an employee?". I then told him the one thing that got him to get over himself, "I can respect you as mgmt as I have to however, I do NOT respect you as a man at this point." After that he was the nicest guy to me. I may have threatened to hit him on one other occasion after he was pushing to much but still. It should never get to that. I've learned people can be assholes and some just need put in their place.

Good luck

HEY DISGOVERNMENT why can't this girl find a lawyer that works on a contigency basis? If they are sucessful they get a portion of the winnings. No one should work with a goon that attacks a person like that ever. That's crazy.

Statistically, there is no chance in hell a lawyer would take this.

The kind of lawsuit this case would require is a law firm with very deep pockets. The legal team would have to research Walgreens and prove a pattern of not responding to co-worker bullying. Can you imagine the complexity, time and money that would take?

Furthermore, if there is no racial, gender, religious, etc. aspect to the case, it makes it that much tougher.

What lawyer is going to front their services on a case they can't afford to handle, with a 2% chance of winning? It's easier to represent "Bubba" on his latest DUI case and make a quick $10k.
