Actually at my store they only test mgrs and the pharmacy staff I was just wondering if shift leads would be in that same category. You dont have to be a smartass about it.

It depends on what the drug test people are instructed to do. I have seen it where it was just select people, only mgrs, and when everybody in the store is tested. It could also depend on if someone was hotlined for possible drug or alchol use at work. I know you know, but the safest thing is not to put yourself in a position where you have to worry about because they will catch up with you sooner or later.

It's actually a state by state issue. In my state they have to test everyone when the tester comes into the store. Whoever is working when the tester walks through the door gets tested. Also, upper level management can not dictate which store(s) gets tested at any particular time. The testing company decides that. It is truely random.

Which means what ever the drug testers are instructed to do is what you will see when they walk through your doors.

Has anyone ever seen testing on a weekend? I have only seen it on a weekday but my schedule is always changing so I wonder if it happened when I wasn't there. Just wondering how random it can be if it does not include two days of the week.

I've never heard or seen it on a weekend. They probably prefer SM to be there I guess? Mondays seem like the best day to catch would-be suspects in my opinion. ;-)

As a shift lead don't you have access to the pharmacy, and are considered a part of the staff (pinch hitter)? SFL here has to have a tech license, so should be tested along with other techs.
Shift leads aren't management technically, so if they only test members of management I would think that would exclude you.

But if they don't exclude you, and you think there's something to worry about ...you're probably right! What fighting chance have you got saying that it was only supposed to be management, and you got caught?

Some also have a number of employees they have to test, for example only 2 employees in rx when they arrive then they'll test front end employees, as well.
