Mine showed up on my personal information, can't remember if it was the payroll site or the benefits one. Anyhow they won't bank between this year and next.

This is the last year you can use your banked sick days, from what I have been told, after 2014 any unused sick days are locked up and can not be used unles you go on extended leave due to illness or injury. After that sick time is in the same pool as you time off and special Holliday, meaning if you call out sick a lot you won't have any vacation time, on the other hand if you do not call out sick ever or only when really sick then you have more vacation time, as we can now all bank unused vacation time. just keep that in mind before blowing throw all your faction time this year. Might want to pepper in more non paid off with paid vacation just to be safe when 2014 hits.

Wow really they are making major changes! This company is becoming a horrible place to work! I've been here for 6 years and I've never felt so unappreciated by them! I guess it's time to explore other options before they screw me!

Get appreciation from your kids, your lover, your family. Businesses exist to make money.

I had interpreted the information on StoreNet/Compass differently. This is the last year you can BANK sick days, but you should be able to use those banked days as needed in 2014.

Yes, in 2014 they will be converted over. In fact, corporate came out with a notice to employees that they should strive as best they can to bank as many days (sick and vacation days) as possible from now until 2014. Even those with less than 5 years service can bank days now.

Might want to re read and re interpret. it also states that banked sick days will be put in a seprate pool only to be used if you go on disabilty. you only need 5 for that....i say use the rest fast!!

You only need 5 for the initial qualification, but what if you're out longer and start needing to utilize half pay? Anyone know if you can fill out the rest of your pay with the banked sick days?

From policy and procedure:
Accumulation of Sick Days ("Banked Sick Days")

Sick days that are unused at the end of a calendar year may be accumulated for use in subsequent years - up to a maximum of 30 sick days. Accrued Sick Days may be used when all current-year Sick Days have been used. If you become disabled and are receiving half-pay benefits under a company disability plan, then your Accrued Sick Days shall also be used to supplement that half-pay benefit.

Sure, but even as an MGT I would feel secure. The overwhelming majority of MGTs/EXAs that are high-performers will find rewards, whereas the overwhelming majority of the low-performing Store Leadership will be weeded out.

outdated info. this policy is being replaced. yes you can use it to make up for the half pay time i suppose but with the way all the rest of our benifits are losing value Im not saving anything. I also cant take it with me when i leave and while i had planned on staying with walgreebs for a long time i dont anymore so use it or loose it.
