Please go under forms, copy or borrow a form, seal that door every day by 6pm. Example: Jack seals at 6pm Tuesday, Jill breaks seal at 4am Wednesday to receive a delivery. Please think safety, always have two people there.

A log from a seal's back door? Why would you want that?

I doubt it. My MGR is anal about sealing the door and logging the number on the seal and the time and all that. He even keeps it padlocked during the day even though there's not a chance in hell anyone would be able to open that thing from the outside, especially if the little bars at the bottom are slid into a lock position. Annoys the hell out of me when I could easily get a delivery if it comes in while I'm back there but have to page the MGR anyway to come unlock the door, and if he's busy with something else that can take a quite a while (in which case I just hunt him down and get the key from him).

I'd be happy if it were gone. It should really be replaced with something more up to date and efficient. My suggestion would be that every receiving door is replaced with the type that only opens from the inside, and an electronic log be installed that automatically records every date/time the door is opened, and transmits to the AS400 to be requested in paper form at any time. Combo that with 2 extra surveilance cameras pointing at the inside and outside of the doors, and we'd accomplish much more than scribbling down a seal number and whatever reasons we want to fill in. I doubt it will happen, but it would be nice.

The back door log only matters when LP wants to get somebody in trouble.

Pathetic.

delivery trucks already have a similar process. There is no longer a seal it's electronic now.

Door isn't sealed to prevent someone from breaking in from the outside. It's sealed and locked to prevent some loser employee from stealing merchandise by stashing it out the back door...

Not having it sealed is an audit violation, ours hasnt been broken in over a year if not longer, no reason to use it!

Ummmm... it's f'ing stupid... we tried out the seal for about a year, but we went through like 6 log sheets because it's too much of a trek to get into the stock room from Rx. This is NOT a BOP audit violation, perhaps a WAG one though. Nobody in our district, or region for that matter implements it until there's a change in RxM who is super anal, or at LP's request.

The purpose of locking the door when you're open is not to prevent someone from opening it from the outside, it is to prevent one of your disloyal colleagues from opening the door and handing merch to their boyfriend waiting outside in his ford broco. Yep, I said it. Your SBA's boyfriend drives a ford broco.

First off, your MGR is not supposed to hand his keys over. That is against policy. Our padlock stays on and the ONLY people with keys are MGT and STL. We log when we break the seal the first time in the AM and before closing in the PM. Takes all of 5 seconds, so what's the big deal?

That's what the back door cameras are for. This is the only wags I've worked at where the manager keeps the receiving door padlocked 24/7.

Then its the most competent wags that you have worked at. The back door needs to be locked all day. You should not be getting keys from your manager to open it either. Your manager should be written up for that.
