So it's ADSM time of the year- and I was just wondering what a new EXA might get in pay. I am an assistant making about 35,000 right now. How much should I expect if I became an EXA. I know every district is different- but as a 7 year, pharmacy certified employee- what would be a realistic number, I don't want to be surprised or hurt if they only offer me say- 36,000. Any help would be appreciated.

The EXA at one of my old stores told me he made 46k last year. Minimum bonus for an EXA is around 3k.

Depends on where you are. The post above is almost right except that the bonus is capped. After taxes, you might get somewhere between 2-3k on average. The new bonus calculations that are in the works (performance based) may skew that off, but I think that goes into effect next year (or so my MGR says).
You might get more, but believe me: you earn every penny especially during Christmas!

Thanks for the answers- hell after they cut the OT- anything is better than nothing- plus a steady job right now is always a good thing. Here's hoping I get it.

The most important part of being promoted to an EXA is an opportunity to be a store manager in the future.

Good luck. I'm almost done with my first year as an EXA, and have had a bit of fun in the transition.

I've been EXA for 8 years. Started out making $45K plus bonuses salary. Now I'm at $54K on hourly since I work in California and the laws prohibit my position from being salary.

I don't have this problem now since I'm hourly, but when I was salary, the SM expected me to stay longer than the 44 minimum. Failure to do so resulted in a lecture. Depending on your SM, you may be putting in 48+ hours a week if not more. And they expect you to cover all call outs.

Good luck.

they definetly need to do this universal in everystate, I would love that my husband not be salaried anymore. I wish they had that law where I am from. Since the new regime took over Walgreens, my husband has put in about 54 hrs a week. His manager doesnt do shit. The exa program is a joke!!.

With the fact that there is one less assistant manager per store (or will be) it's now on the backs of the EXAs. Unless a store has a store manager that is willing to help make up the difference the EXA is seen as the person who makes up the difference. I would say a majority of store managers have the view that they paid their dues to make it to store manager now it's up to the EXA to pay their dues.

I really which the policies of this co was consistent across the board. It really appears that policies and procedures are being left to individuals to interpret in any fashion.
It will really help to know what exactly the co opinion of things are, rather than nesting in the gray area.

I know that policy and procedures for employees to ring up alcohol to be over 21 is across the board because there are different laws in our nations other states.
