The Manager

This is a great example of the typical customer. They are always saying the cashier is out to get them. God forgive that the cashier makes and error. Another thing... It is the lazy ass customer's job to make sure that they provide the in-ad coupons to the cashier (NOT THE CASHIER...IT IS A COUPON). I assure that there is no way for a cashier to remember 100 to 200 coupons a week. The next time you are in line and forget your in-ad coupon, don't play the blame game and point the finger at everyone but yourself. YOU AS THE CUSTOMER WHO MUST ARE TO PROVIDE YOUR COUPONS ARE THE ONE TO BLAME FOR NOT GETTING YOUR DISCOUNT!!! NOT THE CASHIER!!! So in the future, you will now understandwhy the manager and cashier look atyou like you are stupid when you say the cashier forgot you dicounts... no dumb ass, you forgot the discount!

Yeah, very first thing under the Coupon Policy Guidelines on Walgreens website is:- "All valid coupons should be presented to the cashier at the time of checkout."

But our SM's gets us to do our best and study the sales flyer whenever it comes out so we can at least try to remember all of the coupons.

Sorry to ruin the fun, this is the oldest trick in the book, 99 % of the time its a customer trying to rip you hard working cashiers off. Here is how we remedy this ..

When handing cash back transactions, lay the money across the counter/ register like a casino dealer. fan out each individual bill , and allow it to be in plain view of the camera. There is a reason dealers do this in a casino,

I am appalled by many of your responses.
1. Stop looking for reasons not to help
Customers, start looking for reasons to help them.
2. Since when did proper cash handling become our customers job? We pay you to handle POS transactions. If you fail to count and return the proper change, it is on you.
3. The customer may not always be right, but that's not for you to determine.
Human descency people, the benefit of the doubt. We all make mistakes. Would a guilty
Party really seek assistance from an online blog, or would she just come in and fill her pockets.

To the customer who stated that Walgreens Employees "constantly steal from her" & found "after getting $40 cashback folded @next store only $20" = Walgreens Policy,at least here, is a MAXIMUM LIMIT of $20 CASHBACK=as a previous person stated, if you want more $$ go to the BANK. I have seen customers buy 1 item, use debit for $20 cash back, THEN give cashier 1 more item to do the SAME THING-$20 Cash Back! Most all of the local cashiers count out the change, then, count it out again as they are handing it into the customers hand. To say Walgreens, or its employees are Stealing from you is quite a Harsh Comment to post, COUNT YOUR Change,KEEP YOUR RECEIPT&if you notice an error later, call the store, ask for the manager, explain your concern & it will be taken care of in the friendliest manner- just keep your records and be polite.

The OP is from the middle of 2009, well before we started limiting the cash back to $20.

i have been working for walgreens for many of years ,and i have seen mgrs come and go some good at their jobs while others have fallen through the cracks.which often times have me ,and other co-workers wondering how that could have happen.my store mgr is such a liar and can't stand for anyone to challenge what she has to say as though we don't have a opinion or a mind of our own.i myself have caught her in so many lies ,and she ownes up to them ,but she continure to lie about the smallest things.i have no respect for her what so ever i put up with her because i have to.while in the back of my head i'm thinking how much i don't respect her .the other thing i don't like is when my fellow co-workers call off she (the mgr) makes it everyone else business that is between the employer and employee why someone is late ,called off etc;i don't feel comfortable working with a theft in the store i have witness a employee stealing nothing has or is getting done ,but honestly i think the employee realizes that several people knows she has stolen several things and she has kinda stop.i'm not their to be security ,and i believe the mgrs should have more of a watchful eye but they chose to keep people like this around it's sad i have NEVER in my life seen a store ran so poorly in all my years.it seems to me corporate needs to visit these stores more often ,and ask the employees how are things going in the store ,and how do we think the mgrs are doing .we as employees knows best.we have one mgr that really cares about the employees ,and we all appreciate that mgr more than he will ever know.we he is their everything runs smoothly ,and it's not as intense as if the store mgr was present.

Why did you accept the cash folded? You never walk away from the register without counting the cash that you have just been handed. NO cashier would hand you cash folded in half, that makes no sense. If you are being short changed and you go back again and again, why? If I've been shorted I've called the store talked to the manager and they have always handled it or I do not shop there.

I have been a patron of Walgreens from almost 15 years. For the pat 5 years, however, new employees at my local Walgreens have been stealing money me. I have noted at least 6 times in which I was either overcharged, overcharged and denied the items I'd purchased or denied services after having paid. Today, I needed to make a cash-back withdrawal of $40 so I could purchase a bus pass another store. The cashier handed the funds to me folded. When I arrived at the other store I was $20 short. when I went back to ask for my money, they said they had no record of $20 dollars extra in their cash register. I think the cashier pocketed my money but, how do I prove it? What should I do next?
At my store,$20 cash back is the most that you can get with a debit card. Is this true at other stores?

To address your number one: How can we help someone who can not help themselves? Leaving a store without checking to see what bills you are handed back?
Cash count could have been done if the customer actually did or was able to get that amount of cash back (my area is 20 over max) and would settle this. But, in this case the customer wants us to believe that they were cheated.
Tapes will be looked at, and the transaction number can be tracked.
Go ahead and persue this customer, and when you find out that you were not cheated and wasted a ton of time from our workforce to hope to snag a twenty from us or a twenty five dollar gift card for complaining about us, just remember one thing. You are on video, and you made us look at it. If you are an honest person you have nothing to worry about. If you are not an honest person, realize that your attempt to get money from Walgreens is coming to an end quickly.
