Lol the ppl says if a customer refuses to sign up call a manager. All overnight mgts have either been demoted to SFL and been told they are not managers or they've quit and been replaced with non-management SFL. So when the overnight cashier calls for a manager I'll gladly tell the customer here at 2am to return in the morning so they can speak with a manager. I do not agree with being told I'm nolonger management, taking a massive paycut, but still expected to be called a manager on the floor and pretend to be one. You get what u pay for and SFL is floor staff not management.

I am still a night MGT. However, we rotate so looking to get out soon as they find a SFL to replace me.

Problem is this, Walgreens will recognize this fact and give some authority back but not the pay. Let us watch and see how they try to turn this one around.

This is going to be a problem for a long time until Walgreens gets all training materials and storenet up to date.

To put it simply, whenever training material references a "manager" it does mean the SFL. Corporate has done an absolutely atrocious job of communicating the semantics that should be used during the transition.

Make no mistake that if you're the SFL on duty you're still going to get all the calls to fix every little issue the employees run into.

Haha.I love it. All these employees use to tell us exas how they could do our job better and how'd they get this place together. Haha.now they get the sfl job And are whining about this and that... well you know what?

You got your cake... hope you choke on it.

Hummm some one lacks the knowledge on how to properly apply saying.

If it was cake means something good. Since SFL is all bad for most employees. You must reevaluate your statement.

Lol your generalization of all who are being hurt by this shows a lack of empathy and intelligence. Many have great respect for what exas are forced to endure but u sir do not deserve any. Individuals and whole families are being forced into hardship, some are loosing their houses, can no longer afford day care, and more. Walgreens is using a loophole in terminology to legaly cut mgt pay by calling them non-management or else they would legaly have to have a higher pay cap. In such for those hurt by this I say play the game wag started and be non-management. I truely hope one day you learn to earn some respect because I pitty those who work with you and your disrespectful rudeness.

Maybe you should step up and try to help the customer instead of bitching about everything.

Yes there is.

There are at least two new stores being built/construction starting on in the Indy area and you seem to be a decent EXA based off your comments on here.

hopefully sooner rather than later, despite speculation on positions. I would consider myself an above average employee. I do what I feel is best for my coworkers and the store. I go to work and do my job regardless of the situation. My father always taught me to give 100% regardless of the situation and good things will happen. Might not happen when you want them to but they will. I also have a growing faith in god and believe all things happen for a reason. So, hopefully something good happens with my career at Walgreens. We'll see what god has planned for me.

Since we all want to talk about it, let's do it.

Let's take a few minutes to talk about "cake":

Translation: WAG is gonna ask MGT's to take a demotion, and still expect them to serve as 'acting managers' when EXA/SM is not there.

No one mentioned a lower employee rising up into the SFL position until frankenstein's post. No 'promoted' employee whined. It was a 'demoted' MGT, talking about his understanding of his reduced authority, and expected duties.

Spaz didn't quote anyone, so his post could be a response to Altec, Frank, or even both.
__________
WAG's cake (as told by Altec) is changing the job codes for MGT's, and expecting them to do the same job without any fuss.

Lower employee's cake(s)(the ones described by frankenstein) could be seen as them getting the promo to SFL, then choking when they see the load of new responsibility they would have to take on.

This sort of interchange reminds me of a short scene in Family Guy where, to show that Peter doesn't pay attention to his wife (If I could have found the clip I would have linked it). Something like "Oh this sunset is so beautiful!" "Um...about a quarter to seven."

Spaz's post was so Spaz that it launched itself into the Spazosphere. CLASSIC SPAZ!:-)

Truth i have talked to several promoted employees the raise in pay really makes the position bad for all. It really in my opinion is a step in the wrong direction. I am a MGT that was offered a promotion several times. However, I valued family time at the time. I have a history as a MGT of going into trouble stores and helping get things under control. This probably wouldn't change only difference is I would be able to work more hours. I decided 2 years ago to improve my life and get out of retail. so my path to multiple degrees and certifications started. I am about 45% through my path. at the end I will have. I also run a business on the side. I consult on IT projects and services.

1. AAS
2. BSx2 (Business IT Management, Information Systems)
3. MBA or MIS
4. 20 certifications 9 CCNP,Project +, CCNA:Security, CeH.
Add that to 14 years experience in the field I should be in the high 80s to low 90's after i am done.
