Anyone done the interview panel yet? What questions are they asking?

There isn't one. They take all 30 (or however many) applicants, throw them all into a pit with a couple lions. The DM drops 5 or so gold coins into the pit. Whoever comes out with the coins wins the ASM job. Ever watched a wrestling "Royal Rumble"? Same thing.

Interviews haven't started yet. But they will be behavioral questions. There is a bunch of questions online for examples. You will be graded on will you answer in format from the prep materials.

In our district the interview will be with 3 CLs. At first we thought it would be just one CL or the DM.

I was told by my store manager who is also the CL to expect some news on interviews at the end of this week. They need this week starting tomorrow to review the math tests.

So in others words we have at least one more week to prepare for the interview? Does your CL know for sure? Is he reliable? Because my CL didn't even know how many questions were on the math test or how long it would take. Either that or he wasn't able to say.

It's all a shell game. The CLs have already made up their minds. Usually it's their buddy MGT from within their community. Unless that person is an absolute moron to diss the DM and flunk the math test, the CLs ahve made up their minds.... According to some SMs I've talked to.

Read the ASMT role description in the Field Transformation Website. Think about what questions they may ask pertaining to each area of the job description as well as your daily experiences as an MGT. Read the prep material on how they want you to answer those questions. As much as I would love to see the list of questions ahead of time, it shouldn't be the end of the world if we have to do a little research and brainstorming to prep fairly for ourselves.

I've already been doing that. Even went to every website they put at the end of the prep materials. I've gone to other websites and answered those questions but even doing all that, im still worried. Maybe bc everone is saying how hard behavioral interviews are and you always walk out feeling like you boomed.

We're all a little paranoid, and we'll all over-think the interview after the fact. Keep in mind that if it's going to be a rough interview, it's going to be rough for everyone, and you're ranked against everyone else on the same terms. If you've already done all the prep that you say, then you're probably a step up over at least half the others. And as stated before, they already had a good idea who they did or did not want before all this, so scores are going to be tweaked regardless of how well you worded your answers. Interview scores are where they have room to BS it all and rest assured they will, whether in your favor or not. If you're confident in your performance, and you've prepared as much as you can, just let it be what it will be. I'm personally starting to feel a little numb to it all, and I'm just glad I'm going to know where I stand after this. Win or lose, I can finally start figuring out what I'm really going to do next, instead of this uncertain limbo we've all been stuck in.

Plenty of resources on the web about these types of interviews.

To prep take a piece of paper and write down a few scenarios.

Like.

Tell me about a time when you had a difficult customer how did you resolve it?

Follow up question will be.

Would you do anything different?

Most of these interviews will involve how you resolved conflict. Customers or employees.

You may get.questions about how you delegated large projects.

Search the web for the standard questions. Behavioral interviews are easy if you are honest and experienced.

None of this is wag specific.
