Stores closing???

Heard from an insider today that corporate has begun plans to close stores that are "losing too much money." Plan is to target several underperforming stores per market who's leases are soon to be expired and that are surrounded by other nearby Walgreens. To soften the loss of Rx customers, some of those stores with decent script volume will be converted to express stores. Timeline is 3 years, which goes hand in hand with the timeframe in which the Medco contract is set to expire. Sad for WAG...:(

I hope this company's stock continues to crash and burn until it's trading for under $1 like Rite Aid is.

Some of their new stores at least in my district are never gonna be profitable. We have rents of 60-90 k a month. My stores monthly expenses are nearly 180k. We need sales in the 650k a month (ss and rx) to break even. Not in mmy district where obly top 7 stores.have those sales.

And stores have similar occupancy costs
