Anyone have repeat offenders in their store who get away with NOT following dress code...what is the deal, it seems to be the employees that have time with the Co...BS.

Hec, my store hasn't followed any freakin' dress code in awhile. I was the instigator by not wearing a stupid tie and wearing dark colored tennis shoes. Now all the managers have said adios to the ties and we allow our employees to wear stylish tennis shoes. My store is the highest grossing store in the district and we operate like a well greased machine. One of the reasons?--- we're more relaxed.

yes indeed, I bet. I agree with what you guys are doing...TAKE ME TAKE ME!!! LOL...But I dont think it is cool that the people who dont follow get away with it and if those of us who do...slip one time we are reminded..but then again it is the same lady who doesn't follow any of the rules who is the main OFFENDER...Hell Im down with no code...ESPECIALLY AS SBA but as long as we do have one..everyone should have to comply...I see the service clerks who work evening wear stylish shoes and capris...I dont say anything..but it pisses me off that the BA wears what she wants...we are a busy store...we are always top 5 in sales in COS...idk that we run like a well oiled machine..lol..but I think if they are gonna trip on us they need to be consistent...at least broaden the options

It's just that nobody really cares about the dress code. How often do you actually see your DM? Maybe 5 times a year tops? And when you do they are just in the store for a few minutes before going out to lunch or driving around for the rest of the day.

Well I have been in my store slightly less than a yr, have seen DM several times..Im not saying I CARE about dress code, Im saying it is BS that those who blatantly disregard it should be written up..my SM has mentioned dress code many times...and name tags are a must at all times..she enforces that equally as much...name tags I get but dress code, no.

What do y'all think about a pharmacy manager who wears scrub pants, crocs, and LSU sweatshirts? Everyday?

Pharmacists aren't supposed to be wearing scrubs, through there are many female pharmacist who get away with pants that are technically sweatpants but could be passed off dress pants under a white coat. And slippers or bright pink sneakers. Female pharmacists should definitely take advantage since nobody will say anything to them about their dress for fear of sexual harassment. Go ahead and pass a hoody off as a dress shirt.

Pharmacy techs can wear scrubs though, why else can you buy them on the employee uniform website?

Our DM takes the dress code to an extreme though, some of us had the old light blue walgreens shirts and were told we are not allowed to wear them anymore because we all have to wear the same shade of lands end dark (nearly black) blue.

Also the DM says that women are not allowed to wear skirts, even if they are the right length.*sigh*

Because of the color shirt our SM would like us to wear khaki pants so we don't all look like goths when wearing black pants, but its only optional.

Besides, I like the goth look anyway.

You started a thread a while ago questioning if your position was safe.....since then many of your posts reference what everyone else is or is not doing. if you don't focus on you and what you do it will be noticed and no your job may not be safe

Lots of girls wearing the supertight pants/leggings out there nowadays. You know, the ones where if you're a guy, you think to yourself "Hel-lo" but you'd probably not be very happy seeing your girlfriend going off to work in?

On this topic, I recently saw somewhere on Storenet, it may have been a question Wasson answered but maybe not, that we don't really have a dress code at this time. What's the deal?

Our only dress code was professional/casual, has it changed over the years?
We are sales/customer service people that is what we are hired for, to advise and sell the beauty products. Thats why they track our sales each day.

Strict uniform guidelines shouldn't be important. Dress should be neat and clean with emphasis on wearing proper identification. Obviously personal hygiene is also important.

Given that not every religion permits women to wear pants, how does your DM handle this?
