Since there is a company wide wage freeze - which means no raises this year - and since anyone over 40 will never get promoted to management, what incentive is there for someone such as myself to keep working as hard as I have been? I am being serious in asking this. At least in years past there was a raise to look forward to, but now that has been taken away. Is Wags trying to drive the older worker into retiring or quitting?

There is no company wide wage freeze so you are wrong on part 1.Part 2-guess that newly promoted store manager in my district should be told about the new over 40 policy since he is pushing 50.

From what I understand you can still get a bonus. I'm in the same boat...18 years in and capped as a senior tech... At review time it is at the discretion of your manager to give a one time bonus instead of a raise.

My SM told us today that there will be no raises because there is a company wide wage freeze. And if I was already in management I could still get promoted, however Walgreens - at least in my area - will not promote anyone over 40 into management. SBA or Head photo is as high as we can go. If my SM was lying about the wage freeze, I would like to know that also.
