With all these mgts changing positions and making 14.50 or 15.00 an hour
What happens to the regular employees
I.e. svc, hps, pst, sba, ba that currently make over 15.00-17.00 an hour is there any word on how much an hour that they are getting cut down to?
They will be taken care of when the Associates title is implemented they will be the ones unwilling to cross train and will be replaced.

Is there a timeline for implementing the Associate's title?

Does it vary by district?

I only know that my husband was told instead of being an Assistant Manager he could be a store lead for a $5.23 paycut per hour or 25% of his income. If he chose to, he could interview for one of 2 positions as an Assistant Manager in a community. If he does not get that position he would no longer be with Walgreens. So, basically this company is screwing us after years of dedicated service by someone who actually cares about his job. Not to mention we have a large family that will now qualify for food stamps and put our house in a position to be foreclosed on when we lose that money. How can a family live with over $800 per month less, even with my p/t job? and believe me, we are not living large. Also, not to mention he has been moved to a store with less than 24 hours notice and not one has been near where we live. It seems to me that the new WalgreenWorld statement by Warren Lindley was a complete lie when he stated "Making sure every person in every part of our organization feels good about being here is a high priority."

The Walgreens world statement wasn't a lie. If your not happy the new process of termination so that no unemployment is able to be had will start. The uppers fully intend to MAKE everyone happy be it through threats or just following due process terminating the unhappy and screwed over people and hiring new at bottom rate. This next "employee satisfaction survey" will give them the employees to focus on getting rid of and sense they'll claim its "Completely comfidential" they'll be able to claim it also had nothing to do with who gets terminated after it.
I know what your going through my family will probrubly be loosing our house unless I can aquire a second job or a better one.

Today SM said there is a change in plan. New overnight Shift Leads will NOT take a pay cut or loose the MGT title. SO MAYBE they are stepping back.
is this true?

Yes, further investigation seems they are offering this desirable opportunity by seniority, so the person offered the position didn't have seniority over others and they have to be offered the opportunity first.
Seems pretty confusing to me.. so not sure if they are still doing all the PLAN or rethinking, but it's not rolling out too professionally IMHO.

No, coming from direct experience, this is not true. Poster, or SM, may have been confused. The former MGT keeps their current pay rate for 90 days.

The OFFERED position was the overnights position. And the SM was called to tell the MGT they could not offer the position till people with more seniority declined the opportunity. SO while that person will be working the 7 overnights on 7 off, they cannot be relabeled SFL until other MGT's were offered the position and it comes to this person in the seniority list. Paperwork had already been signed, then pulled back. Again, not very professional IMHO.

Ok, but I signed my paper work on Friday afternoon. Who knows. I have a DM that seems to be very slow at getting important news to my manager.

This is quite confusing. Can you simplify? Thanks!

You're right this is very confusing. I think you can go to what your manager told you -- that your official step down isn't until April 7. By the way this sounds, and I'm just guessing, is that possibly various store managers "jumped the gun" on the signing of the paper that effectively demotes the MGT to that of an SFL.

I'm sorry, that's why I said, not very professional. But I think you are right. They may have acted too quickly.

it's great to see Walgreens at last, looking out for the Cashiers, Ba's and Photo people that work hard .The work load put on those people by lazy management at last might be recognized. STL'S AT MY STORE do mch more work than ASM. It is time for SM AND ALL MANAGEMENT TO PHONE HOME ONE LAST TIME and start working!

Unless you're a complete tool @ work and have no work ethic,EXA's and STL's shouldn't be worried about job security or pay.
EXA's will likely be moved right into the ASM position at a similiar salary. STL's will be in high demand to fill the SFL position, and likely be given a small raise.
MGT's future's and pay/paycut/demotion are at the heart of this entire restructure. This has been planned for awhile, and the first clue should've been when they slammed the door shut on our OT 3 yrs ago.
Unless i get a face to face vote of confidence from my DM or CL moving forward(ASM/ASM-T),i'm going to actively look for work elsewhere, use a few sick days, take all my vacation and GTFO.
I WILL NOT take a paycut OR demotion.
If you plan on taking all your vacation and quit right after it, Your vacation pay will be pro-rated for the amount of time you worked this year. If you plan on leaving I suggest you take your vacation and quit in October or November that way you get your full pay. I was told this by SM and someone in payroll.

I'd definitely say you're a little bitter.

If you've been with Walgreens for any amount of time, then you had ample opportunity up until 2 years ago to be promoted. I started out as a service clerk, worked my way to a photo tech, then HPS and then MGT. I've busted my ass to get where I am, and I feel I have every right to be pissed that it's being taken away. Yeah, I may get the ASM-T position, but so might the other 50 MGTs in my district. I'm sorry that you work with "lazy management." But I suppose you would love them if they would do ALL the work and let you stand around and do nothing all shift, right? I suppose I should consider myself lucky that the majority of the BAs in my store get mad at me only when I DON'T have a lot for them to do...
