Glad I found you folks! I was in a suburban Chicago Walgreens and heard a song that I cannot place. I cannot remember most of the lyrics but I think it is from the late 70s or 80s.
"You say you want to ___but I don't believe it"
The lyrics "I don't believe it, don't believe it."
It sounds like Alan parsons, the cars or 10cc but I searched and could not find it. It was in the style of "I'm Not in Love" by 10cc.
It was about 7:30 pm CST in oak park il.
Help ! I love this song and haven't heard it in many years until last night at Walgreens!

Ok, I only work night shifts and every night I hear a song that I love, but I don't really know any of the words!
The only words that I can remember are "please don't forget me, I'll try not to...."
It is almost like opera in some parts. I just can't find out what it is called.
Please help, it is driving me bonkers!
Thanks (:

I heard the song today (9/4) at 5:45PM MST. I listened to it very carefully. The whole song is all piano with most of the melody played on the high note keys with the stances(?) ending in low notes. Alot of simple repetition, but catchy. It's sounds like a mall or elevator diddy from the 70s.
I heard another non-singing song about an hour later. It was distictly 60s surf music (it wasn't "Wipe Out" by the Safaris, and I'm not really looking to identify it either).
This one?

Another song that was played on the intercom that I just found yesterday is "Move Along" by The All American Rejects. Not a big fan of them, but I added to the list.

There's one that I've started hearing recently, it's kind of a downtempo alternative song. It doesn't sound that old to me, so I imagine it's a newer song. It really makes me think of Pinback, if anyone knows that band. I can't hardly make out the lyrics, but there's a repeated shouting part at one point ("We are!" or "I am!", something like that). Another part talks about "transform this travesty" or "tragedy". Shazam turns up nothing, despite me standing on a chair with my phone right in the intercom speaker's face haha. Any suggestions?
