Screw Them

I say all the people that work for Walgreens that have any testicles take a few sick days at the same time on the same day. Give the corporate cronies something to talk about besides their bonuses.
Any takers?????

Yeah! that'd be perfect! And when you are the only one working the whole store, you can start asking for doctor's notes and write up the ones that are faking! do us ALL a favor and quit if you don't like Walgreens

Just as I thought, you are one of the (yes, ok) people they like to have working for them. You are probably one of those people that can’t think for themselves and sucks ass to all the corporate cronies that you can find, begging for a promotion. People like you are why they can screw over employees and still get their millions in bonuses. You were probably bulled in school too.

Ha they'd probably catch on if a massive number of employees did this all at once and fire the lot of them. Although I must admit I sometimes wonder what they'd do if their entire workforce at the store level were to quit all at once.

Lurk moar. This crap pops up every couple of weeks, posted by those stupid enough to see strikes on television, and think that's going to instantly solve their problems.

I worked near a store the only had an SM and HPS left working in it. It all happened in an instant.
Not related to a strike, due to a loss prevention issue, everyone had been fired and escorted out at the same time.
Once a store is running on empty, they (the SM, whomever) will send a memo to all the surrounding stores asking if they can have a few workers for a few days to come in and help until the new hires are trained.
Yeah, things are hairy for a few hours, or maybe just a day, then in the retail world, it continues as normal.
To anyone who walks out, you'll only be hurting yourself, and no-one will ever remember you, or care to.
Walgreens is prepared for a walk-out, and I can't count how many times I've worked the front end alone along with a single manager who had to go back and forth between the front and pharmacy because they were short staffed too.
Got to admit, you don't feel beaten down after a day like that... you feel pretty powerful that you can do the work of all your fellow co-workers who ere unable to come in and still have a smile on your face.
And if the manager is nice enough, they'll even thank you even though it was all just part of the job.
It takes a stronger person to do their job no matter the difficulties than a sad, sad little person like Screw Them from Ooltewah, TN, to take the weak way out and run away while trying to bring as many followers with them as they can, as not to look so... pathetic.
So I ask you, if you have any balls (or imaginary ones if you're a chick), get out yourself, a bad apple spoils the bunch and you'll be helping everyone around you once they are far away from your diseased contamination to anything that stands near you.
I may be an underling, but no matter how many insults from people like you, I'll either find you very funny, or you just make me feel sorry for you.
Then I just... feel sad.
Guess the bad apple is starting to spoil the others, I'm outta this thread.

Was it swapping the 5$ off store coupons that cleared the store. Had one near me that lost all but 2 people up front.

NiceThingsKitty I think we have all been there and done that. On multiple occasions I have run both the front register AND photo with nobody else in the store with me but the manager (and the folks working the pharmacy but they are in their own world back there).

(Not because anyone was fired but because everyone else which was supposed to work called out).

A strike should only be an option if you value the company you work for. If you considerate it be just a temp job till you find something better, then you are in for a rude awakening. A teacher strike works because that is their passion. They are willing to go the extra mile for their jobs, most retail workers would not. I'm just saying the only ones that would loose would be the ones that go on strike.

I heard about most of a store being fired bc employees were constantly using coupon codes for free water. No physical coupon, just the codes.

The store I know that had almost everyone fired, happened shortly after inventory day, it showed up that the store were thousands of dollars short on cigarettes.

But yea, I've only known what its like being alone after a store has a ton of people call in.
Or a ton of people wanting to go home because of horrible weather coming that might cause them to be injured on the ride back if they didn't leave immediately.
Our managers can't say no... I don't blame them.

Heh, this one time, two of us were left behind (no pharmacy), and police told us to close down and head home because the roads were being closed, we had to hustle and get our customers to hurry up, buy their SALE pizza's and leave.

For your concern, I am an EXA and am tired of the open-door of employees that try to take advantage of my store manager. We've had people like you try this 'strike' and you know what happened? They got fired after we found out their motives. So don't judge me, judge yourself. There are millions of other people that would GLADLY take your job because they need it. So don't BS me, be an adult and grow up. Or just give your job away because you don't care about having money.

Honestly just quit if you are unhappy there. No need to have a negative attitude and bring down the ones that actually enjoy working for Walgreens.

Opportunities are out there. Just open your eyes and seek them out. Especially if you are still looking to work in retail, right now is the perfect time to start applying.

Personally, I quit. I got tired of working for a biased manager who had no interest in developing any employees and enjoyed putting all the burden on the MGTs. Factor that with the direction that the company is going in and it was an easy decision.

Wait a second? That is all you have to say?
And you're welcome, I'm glad I helped you understand something.

Business at usual at my store, so many hours cut we run on 2 people per shift. Customers at the checkout have to yell to be checked out.
