i was just accused of having a relationship with a coworker which is completly untrue fueled by some typical rumor mill. told i could lose my job if i wasnt honest, which i was and i feel like everyone now thinks im a fluzy

The only way you could lose your job is if you're a member of management. If it's untrue and you have yet to talk to LP I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it. In a case like this there has to be a good amount of evidence and also, if the "coworker" denies it on top of no evidence, then there's no case at all.

i talked to that "lp" guy, and flat out told me its happening. clearly its not, and wont tell me who started this nonsense. can i sue this piece of sh*t for slander now. my husband is fuming

Here's what's happening with LP. He's telling you "it's happening" in order for you to confess. LP does this all the time. When talking to the employee they say they have the proof that the employee is doing "so and so" when they actually don't have proof or maybe even any evidence. When the employee doesn't "cave" and confess (because either the employee is actually innocent or is calling LP's bluff) then LP can't do a thing. I've seen idiot LPs but a tape in front of a employees saying they have proof on tape of their activities when nothing is actually on the tape. When the employee doesn't confess LP simply gives up. LP can't and won't tell you who started the nonsense.

Unless one of you supervises the other or are in the same store i wouldnt worry about it married or not. A transfer for either of you is in order if you are in the same store

To be more serious, its true that LP can't get involved when its to do with two lower level employee's, but if one is above you then that is against company policy and one of you will have to transfer, or one of you will lose their job, most likely the person who is of a higher position because they should know better.

Though... I went to a store once where a photo tech and a pharmacy tech were in a relationship together, both lower level and working together at the same store. They had both gotten out of their car, gave a eachother a quick kiss on the lips before walking through the doors (nothing crazy!), the Store Manager was watching from inside the store, wrote them up.

I can understand how rumors can get started, there have been many times where an employee is left alone for 7-8 hours with a manager/exa/SM due to someone calling out. I'm sure you've all been there, as have I. And rumors can get started that way.

I know a co-worker who refuses to leave the store alone at closing time with a manager and insists that she leave with another coworker at the same time as the manager, that way its impossible to accuse the other person of being in a relationship with a higher up, or the other way around. They're both being protected in a way.

We definitely need more information, because this co-worker does sound like they're either above or below you and either way thats bad. But if they're of the same store level as you, then you can't get fired, but can probably call Human Resources or your District Manager and get the people accusing you in trouble.

In the mean time, if LP talks to you again, its probably a good idea to request that the Pharmacy Manager or Store Manager stay in the office with you as a witness so LP doesn't abuse you like this. Its a huge no-no for you to be left alone with an LP associate.

I'm sure you've heard the story of a pharmacy tech who paid for a $4 box of hair dye, left it in her locker for two months, lost the receipt and during a routine locker check she was called into the office where the LP flat out accused her of stealing the hair dye, saying she had video evidence as well, and when the pharmacy tech said that she wasn't leaving the office until she saw this "evidence". The LP lady ended up calling the police to escort her out of the building, and then filed a report that the pharmacy tech had threatened to hurt her and added assault alongside stealing on the report. She was never allowed to work for the company again, and the pharmacy tech had children.

I know some LP's who have their home computer monitor hooked up to the security cameras of their local store to keep an eye on them at all times (what i've heard, if this is true, i'd like to know).

I've also heard of LP's who wait outside the parking lot after closing, after all the employees have clocked out and left the store, she will look through your bags personally to make sure you've got your receipt.

Wrong , Wrong, Wrong..... from a person who knows Walgreens, I am going to give you the best advice in the world.

When LP asks you anything.. You have nothing to say, if they had any real evidence to remove you LP wouldn't be asking questions. TRUST ME...

LP will lie, and does (again trust me) hire professional Reid Interrogators to work their districts, they are trained to extract confessions

They will not tell you you are free to leave if they bring you in a break room to talk, but you are.. And I suggest you do.

Finally, Shut up, the more you yap on here the worse you look on a 1-10 what you already said was an 11..

All too true! I've seen stores where LP has to sit in the office with two managers when it comes to talking to an employee over something. They will lie if they can, just to see if they can catch you in the act, or to make you look guilty if you react badly.

Though, the fact that there are no details at all on this thread makes me wonder if the OP is guilty? I bet they're not, but you know?

I've never seen DVR systems w/ any sort of networking capabilities so I doubt LP can look at anything from home. There's really no reason to do that as the tapes can just be pulled the next day.

Also, bag checks are supposed to be done in the store in front of a camera. If someone is waiting for you outside the store and asks to look in your bag tell them to fuck off.

That is a relief, our LP is a bit evil, though I'm sure they all are.
The person lives locally too so we see them on a regular basis, no harm in that I guess, but with all the rumors we heard we couldn't help feel a bit weary.

Yeah, I've never had an LP that didn't do a bag check by the front doors as the employees were leaving. Just recently LP asked me to give them date and time on some occurances that happened in camera view so that when they showed up at the store when I wasn't there they wouldn't have to go looking for it so, no, apparently LP doesn't have any capability of viewing videos from a "remote location".

Here's your answer .

LP cannot remote view anything, they can only pull the tapes, and each store has a seperate retention policy on the length . If they could remote view, trust me they would ,but that sort of bandwith x the number of Walgreens x people to view = too much money. They will/can/ have put GPS tracking devices on delivery vehicles without drivers knowing .

Bag can kind of be done anywhere really, if you consent to them, and as an employee you are obliged to consent to them. And if your not stealing then you shouldn't worry. HOWEVER.. they do not have the right touch anything in it, all they can do is request to see to the bottom.

If ye got something to hide that u don't want mgmt to see that is lawfully yours,(condoms, bag of grass, herpes rx, free strip club passes), go buy yourself a very small can of hair spray not sold by WAGS with a false bottom. toss it in your purse with the goodies loaded in. Pirouette on out the door with a grin like a cheshire cat

And did i mention to not talk to people about things...

Is it against company policy for the STL to date someone lower than them?(cashier or BA for example), they both work at the same store.
