That is soooo not true... Code aren't used in most parts of the change but "service" for that simple fact that customers would not feel as if they were being targeted... Its operational

In my store
Code 1 - means change needed
Code 1A - means change customer waiting
Code 2 - means check approval
Code 3 - means Manager needed where ever code is called to
Code 4 - means pickup needed
Code 5 - means return or refund
Code 10 - means brinks has arrived
Code 56 - is our emergency situation code mostly for shoplifting suspicion

We did have one guy and one girl who would call a code 32 or 33 for what they determined were hotties but they were the only ones to ever use them ! and they didn't last

Are you kidding me with this? Seriously ask yourself if that is appropriate in anyway. I work for Walgreens and have NEVER heard of such and obviously ignorant statement. If this is how your Store Manager allows you to conduct business then both of you should be looking for new jobs. In the stores I have worked in we NEVER did something so disrespectful EVER!!!

I work at Walgreens and we have both a code 4 and code 6. The codes do vary from store to store, but as it has been said already, the majority of them have to do with cash handling. In my store, a code 4 means we need change & we have a customer waiting. A code 6 means we have a pick up at our register. Hope this helps

Code 6 is used when there are Jehovah's witnesses or other miscreants in the store...that management gets to throw out.

jbone, I have worked at Walgreens for 5 years and have never heard of a code 6! So it must not be chain wide. Besides if we made announcements like that we would never have time to do our actual jobs which is customer service. We dont even have a code when we ARE watching someone that is acting strangely.
I have worked for Walgreen's for almost 13 years and in several states across the country and I have never heard of any code 6. As was stated our codes are operational.

In my store, a code 6 means we've got too much cash ([call the manager] on display). So go jack the fool in the blue dress shirt for a least $500.

just kidding!

If you're so paranoid, maybe you've got something to hide. When I'm shopping, I don't give a crap about what they're annnouncing over the intercom, cuz I'm innocent.

You don't like a lot of cops around either I bet huh? figures!

A code 7 at my store is used when there is a surprise visit by the DM and the storemanger is in the middle of getting a BJ or having sex with another employee, usually a beaty advisor or a rx tech....gotta love walgreens.

Wow that must be an extremely slow store because even us being a low volume store people are constantly milling around and in and out of the Office, the Computer Room, Restrooms,ETC and nothing like that has ever occured.. i find it hard to believe all that sex stuff....If that were happpening in our store i'm sure i'd have seen it by now....just saying !

Here is the real truth about CODE 6..it started about 12 years ago..when someone found out about good gossip or an actual happening at that very moment, they would call a CODE 6!!..I remember once when one of the assistants turned to the Mgnr. and told him that she was having an affair with his wife. Someone over heard this and quickly called the CODE 6! Everyone slowly sauntered over to that area needing to know the scoop..well in walked the wife and gave the female assistant a big ole lip lock..needless to say he left with the both of them.....I'm lying..

We are pretty busy...its just that when the manager hangs the sheet in front of the window in the training room we know that he is "occupied" and to not enter. Everybody has needs

Nah, I screw one of my SVC early in the morning before we open. Sometimes get a hand job in the restroom if we take lunch together. Even if it's busy, we can make time. hahahha

Been with Walgreens for 5 years and NEVER heard code 6. Code 4 where I'm located means refund or exchange. We have no codes designating customers race.
