Having the RXM run the whole store is not out of the question. Unfortunately there are so few candidates who would be able juggle both hats. I know of few RXM who have become SM and two who became DM and not PS.

Cost savings would be good, but again, there are too few candidates that would be able to handle both ends of the store. In my district there are probably 2 or 3 RXM who can do it.

In the good majority of cases where the RXM couldn't handle both ends then the ASM would truely be on their own.

And I have known about this management change for years. My original post was April 30. Have to let my workforce know because this company does not want you all leaving. They want you to accept the changes without a plan b. Please start looking around. You owe yourself a head start over college graduates. You don't want to work for this company for the rest of your lives.
And those of you that call my bluff, go fill the cooler. You don't know shit.

Those signs with a Pharmacist jumping a counter to help is all just paper.and the commercial is just another Youtube. video that might be trending.a customer came to me a store clerk(with previous mgr experience elsewhere) with a script asking about an OTC that she talked to our pharmacist about.Excuse me,but wasnt he supposed to leap the counter for her? second time Ive been approached.our customers want...(drum roll please) customer service.and i dont need to leap a counter to give it.:-)

Enjoy graduation, fathers day, and independence day. After that, the pay rate interviews occur along with your job recode. If your cut is more than 10%, take your unemployment and enjoy through Christmas off. You will win in court by saying they took your job, changed your pay, and offered you the position. By telling the unemployment judge that you were hired to do different job tasks than the previous position, and you can't do the job change, you will get unemployment on wags. Brush up on your phone court skills. The approach they are taking is disgusting.

Almost 1 year ago on June 21, 2011, the story broke that Walgreens was walking away from negotiations with Express Scripts. Almost 2 years ago on June 7, 2010, the story broke that Walgreens was walking away from CVS/Caremark and an agreement was made 11 days later, on June 18, 2010. I have heard that our contract with CVS/Caremark comes up this month.

The meetings could be about those contracts, Medco, or May earnings. It could be about how the PBM selling season is going so far. I find it hard to imagine that it is good news since they want all the SM present but you never know.

has anyone read an e-mail that has been circulated by a "Brenda Jackson" ( i think)? Just completely blast the company. In it stated that all corporate execs gave themsekves a 36% raise in the middle of all this "streamlining."
