As an old MGT (almost 5 years), I've never taken a sick day, called in with a fake emergency, been late or left early. With all the crap going down, I'm thinking of leaving real early and for good. The thing is, I've got 27 banked sick days. If I resign (giving notice of course), will I get paid for any of those days?? If not, I think I feel a cold coming on.. lol

Yeah, you won't get your sick days paid out. Vacation days, yes.

You also can only use so many sick days in a row, and I think at a certain point, you need a doctor's excuse.

Keep in mind, if you call out sick it will only make the other MGTS and the MGR live's harder.

It's not their fault you lost your hours.

Lets just say I wont use my sicks days on bogus call outs, but the next time Im truly sick I wont be showing up to rough it out like I have in the past. Too many times Ive shown up for work, barely able to function, and sick as a dog because I felt I was well compensated for the hassel. Now its an entirely different story.

I think you said it well Sonny. No more going the extra mile to help another store when it is needed or you are feeling bad. Walgreens has told us what they think of us. Now I am truly am an overpaid clerk and I plan to act like one.

It's simple... When you see a thief-walk the other way, when you need a day with your family-call in sick, when you find another opportunity take it. Walgreens posts record profits while screwing it's hardest working people. You can count on when they get the stores cashiers trained on returns and exchanges we are all expendable so look out for yourselves and leave this selfish greedy corporation!!

I would say use your sick days as best as you can, I had 12 accrued before I lost my job last year and when they let you go, they only pay you 1/4 of your remaining vacation days and none of your sick days. I am still waiting 6 months now on travel expense reimbursement that I submitted when I still worked there.
