wouldnt this make sense..short people are really not contributing factors in society but wags can change all that..let's hire them to face the bottm shelves in the stores..it would save of lot of backs of us taller more intelligent people who contribute more to this world..

Well that's so discriminating, but actually a nice twist on the concept. You know wags can't deny employment legally based on height but I've honestly never heard of a vertically challenged person working for wags in a store. Maybe they make up for their "short comings" with their intelligence? Good for them if they do, right?

Who can't face lower shelves?
I am considered above average height and can touch my nose to the ground. Guess I am physically fit.

Be well and get well

And stop being part of the problem. Be a part of the solution and help this company help others.

Get fit so you can face the lower shelves. Take the steps you need to for yourself, if not for Walgreens.

I happen to love where I work and can do all the tasks assigned to me. I do not have a disability that needs to be accomodated.

Take care of yourself not only so you can complete your tasks at work, but so that you can do so in life.

I am not sure how someone so insulting and rude made it through the hiring process, but you now fly under the radar and try to poison the well.

Face the lower shelves like anyone else can or should have to at any given time.

Man or woman up and stop whining. Use up your vacation days to try to get a job elsewhere if you can not or will not do your job.

I am not supporting the theme of this discussion thread but I would just like to say that I have worked with people who cannot squat low enough to face the bottom shelf and just lean over which kills your back. This group of people include members of management. I worked in one store where the bottom two shelves were the only two I would be asked to face because the other employees working could not physically reach them.

And to the last comment posted, I would like to know how you are able to touch your nose to the ground and how this would relate to being able to face the bottom shelves.

Want to encourage people to stop smoking? Stop giving them smoking breaks.

Want to see if any current employee has a physical limitations which could interfere with facing? Ask the person to face the bottom shelf while you watch and see how that goes.

Well said! I'm short but didn't realize I was such a burden to the world. LOL!!!

Is this thread a joke?
I have to admit I'm a little horrified.

Did you know Walgreens do hire a majority of people with special needs in their company, from distribution and right out on the retail floor?
Did you miss that article with the special needs kid who could only talk with his ipad to customers and co-workers.

I am so upset right now.

I agree with Nicethingskitty. This is horrible. Even if it is a joke.
We have a couple people in our store with disabilities who are the nicest people, and hardworking.
Really, think about what jokes like these say about you when you do things like this.

He's not serious. Don't see his post as serious.

Even if he claims to be.

Don't get pissed. If pissed, don't post about it.

Enough said.

Sometimes for us older ones, it is hard to get down so low. however, it can be done. All the more reason to face good, and bring everything forward-because older or handicapped people ..if they cant get down that far they think your out of something, and few will ask. Many a time I have moved grocery items forward that was so far back, you had to get on the ground to see them.
And to Wagslaveforever.... smoke breaks is what keeps some of us from going..postal.

It would be helpful for straightening and hanging ad tags. It hurts my back and knees to keep bending down over and over. lol

I do appreciate anything that keeps other employees from going postal.

Hehe... I'm the same height, and don't wear heels (so not comfortable for the running around we do). I'm used to being looked down at... LITERALLY! Lol!

I don't get to use the step stool often because lazy people are sitting on them resting. So I take a milk crate out of the cooler and kick that down the isle when I'm fronting top and bottom shelf.

Of if i'm stocking the top shelf and have the u-boat handy, I'll stand on that for the extra inches, every little helps.
