A field transformation guide and timeline used to be on Storenet.

On this forum, you can search for discussion threads on "Field Transformation" or "Rewire" or "Project Edision". I think the Discussion Thread "The master rewire plan (field transformation guide)" on this forum got a lot of attention.

No Store Manager? Just a silly fairytale like Little Red Riding Hood, Humpty Dumpty, or God.

LOL! You are a bunch of fools.

There was a pilot in Phoenix to test the shift leaders but it's over now. There is no pilot about store managers

There is no pilot program just yet but it's definitely on the table for the future.

2013/2014 will evaluate the value of the store manager in their new role. If the company thinks stores can operate without a SM we should see a pilot as early as late 2013 with a rollout in 2015.

People are kidding themselves if they can't see this coming. Look at the SM's new role. No, I don't care how much your big daddy works or how many hours he puts in. Look at the job description on paper. It's ludicrous to think a store will NEED someone doing that stuff in the future.

Heard there is a pilot going on where a CL is running multiple store with no MGR in the stores. Are they trying to phase out store managers?
Great idea let us get rid of these useless automotons

I haven't heard of the pilot but I can see the store manager being phased out or the pay being cut drastically. Why do you think they created the CL position? With the CL you don't need to have an over paid store manager. An EXA or assistant can run the store for $20/hr and the CL and DM will keep tabs on everything.
This is just like the new shift lead position. It and the CL position were created to eliminate or retitle a job to cut costs. If you are thinking differently you are in for a rude awakening when it happens

Haha! This reminds me of my neighbors who had seemingly been happily married for many moons. The mailbox listing both of their first names had been a staple of the community for years and years. One day everything seemed just fine, and the next day there was duct tape over her name! Please prepare for a good duct-taping, store managers! I feel sorry for you and your families, but for f**k's sake, be proactive and look out for yourselves! Walgreeds is no place for long-term stability anymore. It's merely a shi**y temporary job to be had by unengaged hacks moving through the new reality of today's economy. Am I right, Greg?

Oh this plan is in full force. ASM's and mgr's with long tenure are targeted. Document everything, do all that is asked but get it all in writing. Claims against the company have already been filed with EEOC.

Ask yourself why you would have a CL position and still have store managers?...Over course they are going away....there primary job responsibility is to do community events?

the name of the position may change and the payrate but there will still be a person in charge of the store. i think the writing on the wall is for dm's and lps.
it's true the company doesn't need all the managers and exa's ; so they will be phased out by attrition.

This whole forum is full of nothing but idiots, conspiracy theorists, and those who freak out over nothing.

Store Managers aren't going anywhere; Pharmacists are fine; and the work will only get harder for those on the front end.

Enough with the stories. Where's the evidence? Until then, your screams and cries are groundless. Now bag my groceries while I make 3x as much as you for doing half the work.

Where is the evidence.......? You honestly think that the Shift Lead position is not going to replace most of the assistant managers? Do you honestly think that they created the CL position to help out the other Store Managers........not with the possibility that the store can run with a retitled, lower payed, employee?
In the pharmacy you migh be right for a while but they will cut out some pharmacists soon with remote product verification and kiosks that patients can pick up from. The Pharmacy manager is the only person safe at 40hrs due to state laws
I'm worried that the ThrobbingWag lives likes he makes 3x as much as the grocery bagger and will lose all of it when he loses his pay

We need to remember that CVS has already gone to this model without a store manager.

Actually no they havent. They may have select stores or markets testing this but CVS stores still have a Store Manager and ASM for all except the very slow ones.

Pilots, take a look at your own district! Who's running the CL stores while the CL isnt there?
Hint, hint, looking for pilots look at your CL stores.
