I have spent out of pocket $3,000 in the past 8 months for Vancocin HCI Capsules. It seems to be the only product that works for my gastrointestinal problem. Less expensive products have not worked. In 2009 I won't be able to continue such costly treatment. I need to know if there is any help available from Viro Pharm.

My Dad is having the same problem, he's 82 years old and has paid over $5,500. in the last 6 months. At $31.00 per pill he'll be broke and then he'll die...can anyone help?

My 82 year old Dad is going through the same thing, have you gotten any help somehow?

I would recommend trying to get a doctor to order the vancomycin injection for you. You can use 1 gm vials and add 20 ml of sterile water and take it orally. This would give you a 50 mg/ml concentration. So for a 250 mg dose you would just take 5 ml. The injection is MUCH cheaper because you can get generic. Hope this helps/
We do this in the hospital sometimes-especially when a patient has an NG tube.

Go on line to the Canadian Pharms....You can get the same 125 mg pills for around $8.50 each. You will need a prescription and delivery takes about 12 to 15 days due to US Customs.
