Are all of the Daily Times writers completely unaware of what feeds this local economy? They waste time with an article about the price of crude oil and ignore a cornucopia of other articles concerning natural gas.
For the Daily Times twits, and those out of the loop, crude oil prices stopped having a major impact on the price of natural gas,(methane - CH4), back in the late '90's. The reason for this deep, but the simpleton version is that power plants started to use natural gas to make 'cleaner electricity' and petrochemicals are easier to make using nice and pure CH4.
To see an article about crude oil and not an in depth article about the real national energy problems coupled with this basins role in it, pains me for 2 reasons.
The first is that the key board thumpers at the Daily Times have zero respect for the intelligence, culture, history and cognitive skills of the local readership.
Secondly - They must be a bunch of kool-aide drinking early 20 something twits that make puddles around their Birkenstocks every time their bottom rung editor raises it's voice.
I also beg my other bloggers to read from many sources IE, liberal dribble rags, conservative mantra rags, economic and scientific journals. It would also be a great eye opener to travel abroad or at least read their periodical's.
We are being cheated by our local paper. This is shameful, because they should be a guiding light that could inspire us to protect our first amendment rights, instead, we only see the local rag as a way to start a fire or insult our neighbors.
