Yeah, thanks a lot Beech-Nutz. Now Canajohairy is gonna look like another dead Mohawk River mill town with high residential taxes, austerity school budgets and drunks living in cars.

I'm sure all that tourism coming up the barge canal is gonna make things all better. Yep, uh huh.

I'd go Amish 'cept they work too much, drink too little and don't know how to collect gummint wealth transfer payments like big corporations and fat chicks..... uurrrppp.

I know the 2006 Floods hurt the area bad and Beech-nut got it the worst, they had the river on one side and then a creek running thru it that flooded too . it was a double wammy . so that was their hint to get out while they where in the blk ink , you all know that Beech-nut got tons of fed aid. who you think brought the new land and cost of building lol the feds did.!

I too am concerned. But if you stop and take a breath, what is the actual effect? I understand the tax issue. But ask the local Businesses what they get from Beech-nut ? The restauraunt accross the street does not enjoy any lunch increase from them. And i'm sure the rest of little guys don't either.

As for people leaving, probably not as bad as you might think. The big shots w/ money will drive 29 miles. The small guy can't sell his home, so he too will commute. And lastly, most of their employees have been driving in for years.

Ol' sourpus Sandra think I know what's going on. Haw haw. And yep, I like to spew...all over what looks like the moon rising up over the Mohawk as it slips through Canajohairy.

Guess she gets perturbulated when someone mentions gummint wealth transfer payments to fat chicks. Don't worry honey. No one's gonna take your welfare away lest you start working somewhere and get to causing all sorts of problems there. Better you stay home....with Oprah and Jerry.

Why do people even dignify this jerk with comments? He doesn't even live or work near here. Topics posts the origin of the source, just as mine say Utica. You can't control that. Ignore him, and eventually they go away.

It already does, and St.Johnsville is alot smaller community than Canajoharie. They pay less taxes than canajoharie and their school doesn't look like a damn college campus.Way too much money spent on canjoharie school, and for what?Just a big showcase as far as i am concerned.Wait and see now. They will be merging also.Won't be able to afford it after Beech-nut leaves.everyone will be moving to other communities to get jobs, maybe out of state.it won't take 5 years either!

beech-nut is only going a few miles down the road so the have to drive 20 min or so welcom to the real world. and i am sure the town board will not want any of the companies that might look to come in

It will still be a ghost town AND IF THE TOWN BOARD IS SMART,they will let other companies in because all that will be left is a bunch of bars and restaurants that are slowing closing their doors too!YOU better join the real world. These small towns need industry to survive, that is the bottom line.

i am in the real world it is the canjo board and any one who thought a court case could stop the move that is not. you know full well they will find some thing worng with a new biz coming in like they will only want one that will use all the buildings not part of one. canjo should have kissed ass to get them to stay. tax brakes and water brakes is the only way to get some one to open shop in new york. i know what the score is do you

Uurrrpppp. Lemmee see ifs I got this straight. Industies come into yer town, hire the locals fer minimum wage, spurt goop and gleep into the water and air, but git tax brakes so's they don't pays no taxes and that would be more attractive than Marlenes black mini skirt in them coming to Canjohairy rather than going to Africastan where flies land on yer head all the time. And all them happy minimum wage workers can make up the difference in the tax base that the industies won't pay cuz we're so dang attractive.

Hmmmphhh.

I liked the idea of opening a bunch of cathouses along the river better. It's basically the same thing....'cept the cathouses are more dignified.
