Scientists: Unidentified material found at bottom of salt dome
Scientists with Texas Brine have discovered large amounts of an unidentified material in the bottom of the abandoned salt dome in Assumption Parish.

Looking @ this led to a novel "under the dome" by Stephen King popping up in my mind.
Not a lot of problems with an abandoned salt dome as it tends to create a local large hole & likely salt lake on top.
Looks like the goings on in the novel are more appropriate to this dot on the map.
