An environmental firm recently took a close look underneath a former city landfill and concluded what many had suspected: Building a park or a new development at the 32-acre site would not be safe.

Is the site safe for city workers? Are they being exposed to anything that will make them sick? Seems like to city is only interested in the money the property can generate, not the health and well being of the employees. The Public Works Director, who has been there for over 20 years most have been aware of the contamination, why did he let the employees be exposed to it? I see another big lawsuit come to the City of Hollywood.

Why not make this another CRA District, then not only will the City clean the place up but then turn around and give $$$$$$$$$ incentives to developers. Wait and see how this chapter plays out with the present (B & B) commissioners spending tax dollars.

It would be insanely criminal if they don't clean up,even if they do'nt do ANYTHING with the site.
