If you knew what you were talking about those cars are filled with demo not garbage. The smell is coming from the sewer treatment plant, that is not being run 24 hrs a day like it should be. So put that in your pipe and smoke it!!!

I have never seen any dust blow---completely across the street..it does rise into the air..also..COMPACTING---NO..th ere is a tractor that uses its bucket to just DUMP---loads inside a dillapidated railway car(some old JUNKER)...just sits there(looks like its been in a demolition derby)...I use Federal Road as a walking route to the Home Depot or the Circuit City Store---the smell is really bad(pukey)...I can't understand how the neighbors can stand it(the Little People Dancing School)...really has me dumb-founded...//..and Karl Elmer's delicatessen/..how can a business community excist like that(its like a SINGLE-smelly)Homeless guy is sleeping there on the road---while people attempt livlihoods...its a weird sight(money-money-money)...The AWD site is a load of bulloney---I've yet to hear a truthful story emerge from its excistance...I do consdier its GARBAGE---its not YALE University...but really---what a load-of bull--excists there.

The Eastside of Danbury has always stunk. Home of the landfill, transfer station and the sewage plant. The landfill is closed but the other two will continue to be there for a long time to come.

The smell was there way before the state took over. I lived down the road for 10 years and it has ALWAYS had a foul odor. Was it Eriquez who was paid off to approve this "transfer station" in the middle of the city?
Absolutely correct.$14,000 to $20,000 in a loan that was never paid back to Mr. G.

Funny..this was never an issue when Jimmy was in charge. He kept that place so clean you could eat off the ground, washed all the trucks every night. Yet another example of the government ruining his companies along with the lives of 30+ people. Hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on an investigation..for what?? Our tax dollars at work!!
Enjoy the smell and your higher garbage prices as you laugh with delight that everyone "got what they derserved" and hope they "rot in jail". The truth is slowly coming out...wake up people!!

Even just driving by that place at any point during a 24 hr period I have to roll up all my windows and make sure the air conditioner/heat is off AND not taking any outside air otherwise it will stench up my car for a bit...
..someone said, and I'm para-phrasing, "If you don't like it, move"...well, I think it'd be easier for one business to move to a different place rather than have hundreds of families and businesses move away because of one single bad neighbor!---moreover, with this economy, how are all those "complaining" supposed to sell off their current property in order to buy a new one? much easier to have AWD run to better standards, better REGULATION (yeah, take that McCain de-regulators)...we tried it your way---didn't work---now give the other option a chance.

And where else do you think they would allow that to be moved to... Probably so far away they'd have to double your trash rate to transport it there. There is no need to move, there are plenty of measures that could be taken to reduce the smell.

ALL the neighbors of the Danbury PALS complain about the constant noise, loiterers, car and motorcycle racing and NOBODY cares about that either. We pay taxes. For what?

So they are going to spray water on the garbage, and allow it to spread into the water table so it can sprad everywhere. Way to pass the problem along to everyone.

The transfer station doesn't smell of garbage, but there's still an odor wafting up from the area of the old dump/sewer plant on Plumtrees.

Much worse than any garbage smell on White Street are all the semi-trucks that use that area, cutting through residential neighborhoods on Triangle Street (which is clearly posted "No Trucks" to access the transfer station. The trucks are worse than the transfer station itself, and some day a kid on one of the side roads is going to get run over. Why doesn't the city enforce its own rules on through truck traffic?

Think it smells bad now, you should have been around when the old "fudge pans" were operating. Not to metion there used to be a slaughter house down there too. The mornings were the worst.
