Margaret,

You're not the only one suffering from this atrocious attitude from USPS who think they are God and have every right to be rude, not do their work, etc.

I live in Broward county. We lost checks in the mail coming from customers. A lot of delayed mails and rude attitude of both the supervisors and employees. We used to have a lady and an older gentleman that delivers our mail, both were really nice people and care about their jobs and the mail. In return for being nice people, we gace them a little present or soda every now and then, just to say "thank you" and show our gratitude! After these two people retired, almost every single USPS postal carrier are rude especially the black female ones! Really snutty attitude like they don't stink! After all the missing mails and packages, I finally sent a letter to USPS postal inspector and general attorney. I got an answer, he came by and we had a chat. But the problem has not been resolved in fact, as I see it, the more you complain, the worst it get. Unfortunately, we customers and taxpayers only pay their salaries and takes care of their employment, retirement and living expenses, so our voice will never count even when we make a complain. Too bad we cannot send a letter of complaint to BBB, Public service etc, as they are the govt!

I can enumerate a lot of problems right from leaving the package on the swail instead of delivering it on the doorstep... too fat and too lazy to get out of the car and drop the box. Twice this black lady did it!

The supervisor defend the mistakes of the employees and there's no way around it but to minimize the mail going into the mailbox. I have changed almost every single thing via electronic. Maybe if we customer go on strike and start reducing the mail, instead use internet and other courier. Another thing is some of these people working in the USPS are contractual and not employees from USPS -info given by the USPS postal inspection representative. Sometime too, UPS and DHL uses USPS for home delivery, so who else can we trust now a days! These people are getting good salaries and good pension that they ought to perform better in giving us excellent services. My question to all snutty and obnoxious postal workers... If you don't like the job and hate delivering mail, then quit that job and do something else! Unfortunately, most of them want to receive good salaries but not do the job!

I have witnessed numerus rude treatments of customers by Postal Workers. In all cases the worker was a male and the customer was a female. It seems that they target women because they are more vulnerable and pose no physical threat to the workers. The government allows this to happen although unequal treatment and discrimination is illegal in this country.

I recently went to my local post office to buy stamps. Two females were working, one had a customer so i went to the other lady. She told me she was not working now so i would have to wait. Meanwhile she was goofing around on her computer! And they act as if they are doing you a gigantic favor to wait on you. next time i am going to call them on their RUDE behavior.

I received some of the rudest treatment of my life from a postal employee at the Farley Post Office next to Penn Station yesterday August 20th, 2009 around 2:30pm at window #5 by an "African-American" woman USPS employee who refused to accept my package for overseas first class mail telling me that it NEEDS A LABEL and that i wasn't allowed to ship the merchandise listed on the customs form to a foreign country.

WRONG! WRONG! It's perfectly legal to ship the contents of my package to this particular destination. I asked her "who says?" and she yelled back at me "I says!". My package was also labeled properly. It had to be, since THE LABEL WAS PRINTED USING THE USPS SHIPPING ASSISTANT PROGRAM, AND WAS ATTACHED TO THE PACKAGE FOLLOWING THE PRINTED INSTRUCTIONS! This kind of behavior is beyond comprehension, rude and ignorant beyond belief. This "worker" wasn't busy either, there wasn't even a line, so there's no excuse for this stupidity.

Interesting how I made a SECOND TRIP this morning with the same label on the same package, and it was accepted right away by a different employee. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a way to complain about rude, nasty, lazy USPS employees with all their government benefits.

I also agree USPS workers are just so rude they treat customers like they are not getting paid for offering customer service it is just so surprising to me its like they always make it seem like they doing customers a favor to do their job and treat people with no respect whatsoever I don't even like the shipping service and cost of UPS but at least some of the workers are more professional and serious with their jobs

I got into it with a nasty black USPS female employee yesterday. There was a long line of people with packages waiting for their turn. She yelled out if anyone just needs stamps, she could help. I came over to her station and I asked for Christmas stamps, but not a whole book. She said "We only sell them by the book." I then tried to ask her another question, and she immediately cut me off and RUDELY said over and over again "We only sell them by the book." "We, only sell them by the book."

I told her then she didn't have to be rude and started to walk away. I then heard her mumble under her breath "You should know that we sell them by the book only."

I came back to her station and asked what she just said to me. She then yelled at me and said "I DON'T HAVE TYYYYYYYYYYYYYME FOR DISS." You know the way those nasty black women talk? I told her that I wanted to know her name..and she screamed her name at me and then I said..oh forget it you're a government employee, you would never get fired..and she said "You're right!"...Then I told her the reason she IS a government employee is because she is not smart enough to be in the private sector and left!

Later I went to another post office and a manager told me that they do sell Christmas stamps individually. They have sheets of them. He said though that they probably ran out. So this nasty black female USPS employee probably knew that, but she just didn't want to tell me.

I'm so sick of these nasty black female government employees. They all have a chip on their shoulder and act like YOU owe them something.

I am a usps contractor employee and I have driven this same route out of pittsburg pa for over eight years. Let me tell you there are some very good people working for the usps. For every one of them, there is at least one who is a complete and total deuchebag who's goal it is in life is to act like they are a demonic god and make everyone else's life as miserable as their's. Since some of them think they have some sort of power over others they choose to be the scumbags that they really are inside. My advice to you if you get no help from the usps, is to NEVER use their services again. They are so badly mismanaged that I don't see them surviving too many more years anyway. They get sued even by their own people repeatedly, and it is the stereotypical dysfunctional government agency. When they DO go out of business there will be many good people out of a job, but there will be more jerks who will be unemployed.

I remember when the Post Office would deliver the mail to your address, but now they will not do that. They will only deliver to the address that the local government says is your address. And it does not matter if you send every article back to the sender because of the wrong address. The local government does not have the legal right to control my address. This is a direct violation of a persons freedom of speech rights. It also violates your rights against the government seizing private property. If you own something. It is your right to name it, unless you bought something that already has a name. 911 addressing was done illegally in my county, and many people here have had their rights trampled on. And these people are wondering why our country is in such a bad fix. Common curtesy is not around any more. If it is my mail and it is coming to my house and it is being delivered on my road, then my name for the road is the name that should be used. And especially not some generic name like Cr, or Pvt. The government wonders why they don't have enough money being circulated in the economy. Well! If I don't have any say over my own stuff then why should I invest in it. These guys need a lesson in common Sense. Customer Service is so bad at some of these places because before you get there someone has already ruined the workers day, so the worker takes an attitude with the next person to come in. Postal Service Policies are not written in stone, but some of these post masters in these rural post offices treat the mail and everyone like they belong to them too. A lot of these Post Masters look through your letters and when confronted about your open mail. They simply say that they have the right to open the mail to inspect it. This is not the exact truth only a postal inspector has the authority to open a first class stamped letter, and the local Post Master is not a Postal Inspector. But generally most Post Offices have nice people working in them.

Lady at USPS in Salinas at John Steinbeck was very rude when I dropped off some packages that were already paid for. I do not usually see color when I talk to others, but this lady got the attitude with me that gives black people a bad reputation. I did nothing wrong and smiled and asked a couple questions and she acted like I was in the wrong place and I did something wrong. I don't get it why I was treated like that. This lady needs to be fired. Now I am not sure if my packages are going to get where they are supposed to, one of them is not being tracked like its supposed to be.

Today, i went to a post office in Chicago.
This black woman postal worker holding & eating a bag of popcorn serviced me. During handling my package, she said "do you want to mail this package? then you better have a better attitude!". Apparently, USPS is the only place crazy enough to hire & keep this kind of people... After wasting 30 min with this black postal worker and 30 min filing a complain with USPS, I did not see any point. 3 women who worked there were all black and nobody cared other than protecting eachother.
I doubt anything will happen on the complain I filed.
I went to Fedex to mail my package where I dont have to deal with rude black postal workers. I will never use USPS.

The Postal Service is a very generous organization. For you to be ungrateful for their services shows how you obviously need a reality check. You do there job for a living.. they get paid good because they have to put up with arrogant assholes like you. They work there ass off to serve you to deliver your mail. When your sitting in your air conditioned job, they are on the street walking to deliver mail and checks to everyone. Next time watch what you post. If you ever see first hand how much work they do, you'll be more generous.

Not only rude - but thieving lying scumbags - they stole a wedding present, claimed it was broken as it was not in a box - box was delivered empty with no signs of the contents.
