Airlines making overhead compartments bigger in hopes of satisfying angry travellers

Bigger bins will speed the process of pax enplaning and deplaning temporarily. Soon people will learn and carry bigger, heavier bags. Overhead bins are structural members with wieght limits. It's only a matter of time before there is a hard landing or aborted takeoff, and one of these overstuffed bins pops open and the contents spill on the unsuspecting overpackers below. The answer is to let the first bag be free again
