Thanks for a last minute upgrade

I started realizing the importance of racking up airline miles when I flew business class back to the states last year. I had flown that (14 hour) flight numerous times in either economy or economy plus... never again after the business class experience. So I was pretty frustrated when I went to upgrade this last time, and was put on a waiting list. Not only did I have to spend an additional 10,000 miles, but I upgraded two months in advance...needless to say I still was not guaranteed the seat.
In Dubai as I scanned my ticket, my seat was changed and I got the upgrade, which was a shock. I guess the point of this is that I know a lot of folks since the merger who have been pretty pissed at the service. I felt that way too, until I got the upgrade at the last minute. I planned on writing something regarding this trip, just so happens to be a positive story amidst the negative things out there. Thanks United!
