This is the biggest mistake any car manufacturer could make. Saturn has been the most reliable when it comes to performance and dealer satisfaction. I have owned two Saturns and I was fully prepared to make any future purchases Saturns as well. My dealership in Creve Coeur, Missouri has the most satisfactory customer service department I have ever experienced anywhere. Those folks are great. Saturn is an economical car to own and drive the safety issue is incomparable.

How much dumber will auto manufactures get before this is all done?
Shame on you. Why can't you just produce a good, economically priced, reliable product and give consumers what they want. Instead, you pad your own pockets. Enjoy your bonuses boys!

Aw, man! Now that means we only have 7 planets!

At any rate, if you look at the history of Saturn (the car company), it was GM's response to the Japanese importing cars to the United States. When GM decided to sell Saturns not just abroad but in America, it seemed like they had learned something. But then they decided to build Hummers instead of EV-1s.

Now that Obama is in office, GM is having a Fire Sale (everything must go!). But before they burn the house down with everyone inside it to destroy all evidence and witnesses, they decided to try rob the government but instead found themselves being owned mostly by the government.
Now the non-government part is trying to imoliate itself despite being handcuffed to Uncle Sam in a forced partnership to get GM's act together, which it really doesn't want to.(Factories in China and Mexico still open. Canada has leverage, but for the most part GM should be in America!)

To which, the UAW needs to get involved. It is the UAW's job to fight for the workers. And if the company is trying to kill itself so it can dump the Union, the UAW needs to tell the government to tell Fritz to take a hike.

Fire the management, not the workers!
