I've been a Time Warner customer since they took over Paragon which I subscribed to from the early 1970s. My wife and I are videoholics and we have 4 CRT TVs, 3 VCRs, and 2 Cable boxes in our small living room. We've had to deal with Time Warner even though each attempt to communicate with them on the 'phone is a totally frustrating experience. We have no alternative to Time Warner in New York City and every time they "improve" we cringe.

The latest backward step "improvement" is Navigator. I woke up today to a new display and was immediately disappointed. My wife's cablebox hasn't changed over yet and we cannot go back to the old display which she is still enjoying.

Gone are the time seconds display which we used to rely on to set the time on our VCRs, etc. Now all we see is the hour and minutes. Gone are the extended movie information, no more actor's names, etc. Gone are the cablebox displaying the flashing REC which kept us from changing the channel accidentally, now we can have accidents! Gone are the recording timers choices where you could select a future recording. And other changes too numerous to list.

We see on the display the TV GUIDE icon meaning that the display is now linked to TV GUIDE which explains the lack of info for this "GUIDE" is not really a guide at all as it lacks basic info. We have a subscription to it but it's not at all like the old TV GUIDE. It went downhill like a big, round boulder!

I'd like to kick the TIME WARNER's president's ass! If you want to talk to me do so at tvrodman2003@yahoo.com I'll welcome your comments.

Is there anything we can do about this? I mean, this "navigator" is not the service I signed up for. Why would they do this to millions of customers? I'm not going to pay for this poor service much longer.

With situations such as this, it is nearly impossible to correct it. The only choice we subscribers have to file a class action suit against Time Warner. It is not necessary to go back to the old system but simply to overhaul this one so that we are given back some of the old features, some of which I outlined.

It is totally frustrating to have the cablebox shut down when one wants to use the FIND SHOWS feature. And the stupid system of entering titles one letter at a time is for the birds! And programming the box up to 8 times without any of the programs showing interference between any of the 8 programs is just downright stupid.

Our hands are tied and we can't storm the bastille and remove the culprits who foisted this disgrace on us. Sue the bastards!
