unless the person using the taser was being attacked, then the person using the taser should be charged with the appropriate felony crime depending on the outcome. really, this is not going to change much because most criminals pack heat (for those of you still getting your news from billo the clown show on fox-heat refers to a firearm)

This is very crazy discussion. Very scary. Will people use these when they feel threat. What if the person is just passing by. What if argument on roadway over cut off and the person gets out of car and use taser on other. That would be crime, right?

Anyone dumb enough to pull over to continue road rage deserves to get tased, either person. It's easy enough to avoid road rage, drive politely, for 99% of the time, that's all it takes. Driving is not about ego, it's about getting from point a to point b alive.

It would be about the same as using pepper spray, right? If someone is daft enough to pull over and fight with another driver...well they are an idiot. Period.

Fact is that these women wouldn't need tasers or guns if they used common sense.

I do not think it is OK for women to use tasers or any other kind of weapons, because as we all know they do not handle things as good as men do.
I wish things would go back to normal, and all women would stay home and just be concerned about the needs of her husband all day.
You would be the first guy I tasered.
When things were like that, the world was a better place.
You would be the first guy I tasered with comments like that.

A taser is better than nothing, but if you really care get your women a gun. You are better having 6 shots, than just one shot from a Taser. What if two bad guys attack you. The Taser is a one shooter.
You tase the 1st jerk and then stun gun the next one. Then, you run. Why is everyone always so comfortable about taking lives?

doesnt anybody think the criminals will use these? 30 seconds is enough time to take your purse or wallet and run like hell.

I would think the person using the taser would have to be able to prove they were threatened, otherwise it would be assault.
You are correct...AND the TAser delivers less than 1/1//th of the electricity that an AED delivers, so pacemakers and the human heart can withstand them. If I'm being threatened, though, I don't care HOW your heart is.

For folks guys and girls with smaller hands I'd recommend the Keltec .380 or the Kahr PM9 (9mm). Both are easy to conceal and a piece of cake to shoot. I own one of each.
Any girl/woman can learn to shoot and handle a weapon just fine with a little practice.
I agree....guns are a viable option for many, but not for all. You have to be prepared to take a life if you do use a gun. AND you MUST practice using it, or it's no good to you.

The gun owners has the second ammedment to protect their rights, guns are designed to kill. So if someone is killed by a gun the gun worked as designed. We also have laws so felons cannot legally buy a gun. Criminals can legally by a Taser.
Actually, they come inactive, and yu have to go through a background check to activate it. But the key is, CRIMINALS.....whether thay can buy them or not legally, they'll get what they want....just like guns.

Here's an article about them from Jan. 2007. At the time they were $300. It's illegal for civilians to carry tasers in 8 states in the US.

I carry a double shot pepper spray, a gift from my son for Mothers Day.
Pepper spray is certianly an option....but it is ineffective on some people, and often to those on drugs or high adrenaline....

How do you practice with a Taser? You have to hit your target, just like a gun.

I meant practice using a gun....You can practice with a Taser if you want, you just have to replace the cartridge, which I admit can get pricey. I am 100% in support of guns, they're just not for everyone; so the Taser is another option. There's also a laser on the TAser that assists in high adrenaline, point & shoot situations. No "aiming" per say necessary.

They have lasers in them now, I did not know that. A laser has to help quite a bit.

It does. I've actually had some of my "hostesses" try to hit the target quickly, using just the laser, without aiming before hand. It worked!

As far as Taser repelling material....It is already out. You're a day late and a dollar short. Do yourself a favor and stay informed.
Hey Info, how about cutting me some slack here. I ain't one of them types that linger around the gun shows or salivate over new security tech gadgets every month. I have a life. But if I can look forward to "don't taze me bro', don't taze me bro'"
or
"don't taze me, sis, don't taze me sis"

I'm at least gonna go out on my feet with some self respect. BTW, I've seen grown men shake off a shot from a tazer on COPS.
So Info, where's the link to your exciting anti-tazer jacket?
