Dish won and will likely convert remaining Blockbuster stores into Dish stores.

It's unlikely that Blockbuster's customer base will adjust and/or be all right with this transition and will cease to do business with Dish/Blockbuster.

"While Blockbuster's business faces significant challenges, we look forward to working with its employees to re-establish Blockbuster's brand as a leader in video entertainment."

Dish Network Official Statement!

They will at least attempt to save the franchise, and the will probably succeed. Seeing as how everything that DN touches turns to gold!

Fool's gold. When Dish sees how inept most Blockbuster employees are, Dish will have no choice but to bring in its own employees. Blockbuster is no longer a leader in anything, but a follower, and must answer to Dish and only to Dish.

I seriously cannot believe how bitter you are that blockbuster fired you. So crazy. Because you were a useless employee doesn't mean those guys I visit weekly are. Seriously nomo, move on. The brand is alive. Even if they did use Dish employees, it's still blockbuster. Though I believe they'll just train current employees... they need more people than their own to run the stores. It honestly seems that you don't hate the brand, you just want current employees to lose their jobs because you did. You're evil. In the end, the brand isn't going anywhere so why are you still on this board? It's not No Mo Blockbuster.... so go find a life now... you lose. First you just wanted the company to cease to exist, that's not happening. Now, you just want people to lose their jobs... what's wrong with you?

hi y'all it's jim-bob, my only piece of advice for those negative nimwits is this saying that Dr.Phil used to say and this goes to NOMO and Dan: "Sometimes you create what you fear". So what does this mean? Well through much of your mindless and pretty dumb postings you both have wished for the end of Blockbuster as a whole. Not just the stores.... But you called for the end of Blockbuster as "the company". You have called Blockbuster many names over the past few weeks because of your dislike of the "company". Then i have noticed you both have moved your battle to closing stores instead of focusing on the company? I think you both are "grabbing at straws" in any effort to make yourselves feel good about winning something from YOUR PRETTY HUGE LOSS. BLOCKBUSTER as a company is still alive and Well...... Keep heading to the stores as you can continue to rent and buy as you wish. There is nothing different today versus yesterday besides Blockbuster as a company now has a GREAT NEW OWNER PARTNER! You both lost. Everything you typed and attached was for nothing. Today and tomorrow Blockbuster stands!

Dr. Phil also said you can't change what you don't acknowledge. Blockbuster failed to acknowledge a lot and didn't change a thing. That put them in the position they're in now and will ultimately devalue Dish.

I don't think at this point Blockbuster will devalue anyone??? It's what Dish makes of the potential that Blockbuster brings! Stores or no stores? Mailers or no mailers? Ultimately Blockbuster will survive and so will many stores! Some more stores will close and that's ok because that's life. I just hate hearing and reading that the stores don't offer something to the customer......they do..... every time I work the customers come into the store happy. They chose Blockbuster! They could of went to the little Blue Box, they could of walked down to the local grocery store or Wal-mart and got their movie at Red Box..... But they didn't! They chose to walk around the store and pick many movies. It's like what I stated a long time ago....... Once upon a time they stated that "Shopping malls would go away because people are going to just shop online". That didn't happen.....actually the opposite happened as mall owners made their malls bigger and bigger! People like to get out and the Blockbuster stores DO satisfy this portion of the movie rental market share.

Marketing 101: Second-movers seldom if never come out on top. Netflix was the first-mover, Blockbuster Online was the second-mover. Redbox was the first-mover, Blockbuster Express kiosks were the second-mover. Blockbuster had the opportunity to acquire and expand on both Netflix and Redbox, but laughed at the idea. Now it is Blockbuster that is being laughed at.

Nomo, what does your response even have to do with the previous two. You're just grabbing for anything at this point. The company is still alive, get over it. Now you just want people to lose their jobs. Jerkoff!

NOMO .... If a store opened renting only VHS there would be a market for that! Now the market would be slim... But there would be customers. I have customers that come in weekly and ask me to my face if we rent VHS. YEP.... VHS! SO WHILE YOU HATE Blockbuster it's Ok.... Just know over a million customers visited Blockbuster stores in 2010. over 1 million visits ! Imagine what DISH could do with that traffic?
