Fat Tony Scalia wrote in Herrera v Collins that a person was not entitled to a new trial based solely on the fact that they were innocent.

Get real folks, it is all about convictions. Justice has nothing to do with it.

Oh, oh.... How does the Court of Criminal Appeals feel now??? Three times they had the opportunity to right a wrong and they failed to take advantage of technology....

Good thing they didn't fry him or that he didn't get jacked in jail.....

Imagine how many innocent men and women have went to their deaths because of a system of incompetance and injustice.

This makes want to hurl. This guy lost 30 years of his life. Unable to experience the joys of being young. Unable to experience the joy of having children all do to this backwards state of Texas. Thats why I'm no law-abiding citizen at all. They tell you to treat the law with respect but the law will never be on your side..

You are exactly right! And it is amazing how little if anything is said about the fact that in the United States of America and in a George W. Bush Supreme Court -you are NOT entitled to a new trial simply because you are innocent! Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes declared long ago that the United States Supreme Court is a court of Law - it is not a court of Justice. God help the United States of America!

Lets look at this a tad more globaly;the bigger picture. The Detectives and the DA's and most of the Judges already have worked out a deal on who they think they can "hang" the charge on before a trial begins. They are the most vial of criminals don't you think? They should now all be placed in prison for 30 years of their lives. If attorneys, DA's and Judges were held accountable there would most certainly be reform, even in Texas

This man needs to be compensated for thirty years! That means more than what he will probably get.
