TransCanada and the corrupt Koch brothers at work bribing the republican party. The pipeline oil will be refined and exported not used to help America. Just more big profits for the Koch brothers at Americas expense if it ruptures.

They can go ahead and build that pipeline,
but there is no guarantee that a single drop will
be sold on the American market or increase domestic supplies by a single gallon. America already exports about half of its own petroleum production.
Why can't that exported petroleum be redirected to American consumption? Why not? It's called "free enterprise." The oil producers have a perfect right to sell their product anywhere in the world at the highest price they can get. The drill, drill, drill morons like this present crop of Republicans damned
well know that. It's just another political angle to use against the sitting president.

I feel for those folks.
.
The federal government can't do anything to stop it though because it doesn't cross an international border.
.
Meanwhile, they're still trying to get approval for the XL pipeline, if they come up with a route that doesn't go through a water source it may actually happen.
.
when gas doesn't become cheaper after it's in place who will catch the heat?

gary..."angles" aren't needed. truth and facts will work just fine.

Step up the pressure, protest these enrivonmental rapelines! This oil isn't for us anyway, it's for the profit of Canadian oil companies who'll sell it abroad!

What a scam. Americans are so stupid, they don't realize this isn't their oil. Hell, they don't even realize that AMERICAN oil companies sell oil products abroad!

Your problem is that Gary HAS the truth, while you're clueless. No wonder you're running an offtopic birth control evasion!:)

That is when the Right will accuse President Obama of being in bed with the oil industry. Pretty much the same way he was BPs puppet, while he was behaving like a power hungry tyrannical dictator trying to destroy them with unreasonable demands.

AS long as it is built in a safe manner I don't care. However I do want to see alternatives seriously developed. For now we need oil. You are right that Canadian oil is bound for the international market and will have little effect on world price. It might actually raise prices here because it will unplug a bottle neck in the mid west that is creating a surplus there. However it will create jobs at Gulf Coast refineries and ports that will be long term. Refining Canadian bitumen however has some major environmental issues which is what the entire climate change issue is about. One of the side effects I haven’t seen anybody address is that some pretty nasty stuff like benzene needs to be mixed with the bitumen to liquefy it enough to go through the pipe. It is these side products used for refining that account for the most dangerous “spills” and “accidental” dumps. How is the major increase in these products that are needed for bitumen production, transporting, and refining going to be handled? The Koch Brothers record on that up until now has not been too good.

Considering that he bedded the insurance industry at tax-payer expense, would serve him right.

You should care, because it can't be OPERATED in a safe manner.

Check the liability form if something does go wrong and pollution destroys areas.
It's signed as American Taxpayer - in forged writing.

There you go again. Now he is in bed with that evil insurance industry. Of course this morning he was that Marxist dictator who was trying to destroy the capitalist pillars the insurance industry is built on with his Stalinist Obamacare.

All oil, natural gas, and all other energy products from State and Federal Government lands are the property of the American people and should only be used in the United States and never ever exported. Stop the greedy energy companies from stealing American's energy for profits and exporting.

Did you ever hear of a oil company building a pipeline over a active fault?
