QUITTNER Toronto, Canada #31 9:32 am, October 2, 2009:
A new news report by The Canadian Press says that a contract, valued 1.2 billion dollars, has been obtained by Trans-Canada Corp. of Calgary to build a natural gas power plant at OAKVILLE, ONT. It is expected to get started up in 2013, providing 900 Megawatt electricity. Over about 28 months there will be 600 jobs, with only about 25 of them being permanent.
..... This is the same company that has built in Toronto the 550 Megawatt natural gas heated Portlands Energy Centre which is in operation since 2008. Also this company is now building the 683 Megawatt plant in Halton Hills; it too is natural gas heated and is expected to come on line in 2010.
