Europeans committed a genocide against Native Americans. Do the survivors of that really think Europeans will give a flying frack about some graves?

This means oil and money and carbon emissions! Much more important than corpses.

Meanwhile the INJUNS are fighting to construct a "DISNEY TYPE PARK at the GRAND CANYON...Complete with TRAM RIDES over the Grand Canyon!.....They cannot be taken seriously!

Already they are POLLUTING America with Record Earnings from Gambling Casinos....On Indian Lands...This while the Majority do not benifit from those moneys!.

Its All BULL SHIT,a TOOL Indians have been using to gain sympathy from LOONS,and "DANCE WITH WOLVES " FREAKS.......

Naturally if a Cemetery is clearly marked, its off limits...And Cemetery's are not whole territory's.

To declare that Progress infringes on Indian Graves?? Its Ridiculous....One would have to relinquish both North and South America to them.

Take MEXICO CITY...PLEASE!!...Hundreds of THOUSANDS of INDIANS MURDERED by Indians, all in the Current Plaza of MEXICO....What about their Spirits???? Remove Mexico City??? Its A GRAVE YARD of Huge Proportions!!

Its All Selective out rage BULL SHIT!!

Just as the generally cowardly tribes roaming across North America extorted money from the Federal Government by kidnapping, raping and ransoming White women and children for over a hundred years from 1789, the so-called tribal leaderships will look for more money to extort, while failing to even dig water wells for some of their most needy people. The lush, fertile and expansive reservations across this land testify to the generous natures of the Europeans repeatedly reacting to such extortion, murder and mayhem. Now, instead of moving graves as many people have done to accommodate public projects, they use an emotional issue to continue an illusion of victimhood.

Here's what you do...

Very carefully dig them all up.
Respectfully re-bury them in some really ornate boxes.
Ship these boxes to Indian-owned casinos.
Transform these boxes into blackjack tables.

....problem solved.

Pipeline or no pipeline, do you think the products from Canadian oil sands will be cheap? We will be paying more for gasoline whatever happens.

They'll be extracting it by methods similar to fracking. That's becoming increasingly cheap as this technology continues to improve.

But even if the U.S. were to double its current output of oil the best we could probably hope for would be about a 10% longterm savings in our domestic petroleum prices, including those at the gas pump.

The key to American energy independence lies in more drilling, yes. But, but it also means persuing and implementing alternative, renewable sources of energy as quickly and efficiently we possibly can.

I agree with most of what you say, but oil shale is a strip mining operation that is much different from fracking. Petroleum based products will become more expensive over time because the cheap and easy oil has already been developed. The cost of fuel, chemicals, equipment and water used in production are other factors that will increase costs. To me the biggest variable is the owner's (government or corporate) asking price. Supply and the cost of providing the supply is only one of many factors in the pricing of any commodity. Prices will go up to the point that we can pay and not collapse the economy. After all the owner will, almost surely, wants the best return on investment.
Alternatives will not be a factor in America until they are can compete on price AND corporations are required or choose to market alternatives on a large scale. Don't hold your breath, we have been of the same price path since the 1970s.

The key thing about fracking appears to be the total contamination of nearby water tables.

The key thing about shale oil, apart from its also using a lot of heated water in the extraction process, is the release of greenhouse gases just in getting the oil out of the shale...even before that oil eventually gets burned.

First of all Mexico city is in Mexico so that's on their people, second casinos and theme parks that benefit the tribes arent built over their graveyard. Third this is an easy fix. Just bypass the graveyards. It's done all the time.
