Hmmmm, why does my comment pointing out that 17-year-olds are hardly "tots" get deleted moments after I post it? Is this really an ad? Isn't that a legitimate question?

Perhaps people aren't donating for the older children because the program is called "Toys for Tots," not "Toys for Teens."

I detect a lack of integrity on this site - at least for this story.

I agree with the other posters. Whenever I see the Marines standing next to the Toys for Tots box in Walmart or the mall, I never think of teenagers. I thought the box was for toys like baby dolls and dinosaurs, robots, stuff for kids under 10. Maybe someone involved in this campaign needs to somehow inform the public of what the need is. Give us suggestions on what to buy. When I put a Bouncing Tigger, Winnie-the-Poo and a new baby doll with a bottle in the box, no one ever suggests stuff for teenagers. What do they want us to put in the box that says "TOYS" for "TOTS"? I think someone has failed at public relations with this campaign so don't blame the public if we don't know.
