If only more companies would recognize that it's in their self-interest to be good corporate citizens.

TRU pays lip service to children's safety. They are reactionary, not precautionary. Until they eliminate one of the most obvious baby dangers -- crib bumpers and accompanying soft bedding (on display in EVERY crib they have on the sales floor) -- I cannot take their latest actions seriously. They make millions on the fantasy that babies are happy and safe in a plush bedroom outfit of padded, tied-on bumpers and cute matching quilts and stuffed toys. These sets are clear suffocation, strangulation, and choking hazards yet are promoted as necessary to any new crib purchase. Remember: TRU and BRU are highly profitable businesses, not sincere or dedicated child safety advocates. Nobody makes money from *not* selling something that consumers are lead to believe they should clamor for when Junior comes home from the hospital or orphanage.
